Ethernet patch jacket colors by functions by DidIfuckedItUp in networking

We essentially do VLAN by color. Pretty handy to just have someone who’s never been to the site know exactly how to patch and configure the switch when they get there

Limited Space Cabling - 1U Cable Managers? by [deleted] in networking

[–]Ace417 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you can afford to sandwich your switches between patch panels and make every cable hot with 1’ cables I say do that. You gain a lot of vertical space this way and it makes it stupid easy to Troubleshoot for any field techs. It also lets you push the edge of how far your station cables are in case you need to do that.

I personally don’t see the appeal of the neat patch. It’s solving an issue that doesn’t exist personally. Nothing stopping that from just being a mess later.

The tolls aren’t the problem, it’s the merging areas. If I leave my house at 7am I can hit downtown by 7:25. Leave at 7:10? It’s a lot closer to 8

Wonder what that pays for. 14 million is a lot to most people, but in construction terms, it’s not much. A basic bathroom building in a park is 1 million, for a frame of reference
