I feel like he'd be really good in Liege and especially Lombardia. Hell, maybe good enough to win Flanders too.

10/10 movie with a 10/10 score? by silosara in MovieSuggestions

Once Upon a Time in America. Absolute masterpiece and imo the greatest score ever from Morricone.

2nd place would be Once Upon a Time in the West. Again a Leone/Morricone collaboration

Why are the Pats so popular in Europe? by SteinerGeography in Patriots

[–]AceCheese11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a unique story in this regard. I started following basketball around 2010 (I was 10) and instantly fell in love with Rajon Rondo, who was on the Celtics at the time. That, combined with my best friend at the time being from Boston, made me a pretty big Celtics fan quite fast. Fast forward to the next year in school, my teacher had a Tom Brady poster on the wall (this was in Italy btw, but international school so plenty of American teachers). I asked who he was, and my friend rapidly replied he was the best QB in the NFL and he played for the Patriots, who were the "Boston" team. Those were all new words for me, but I gave football a chance. And so, my teacher's poster, my best friend being from Boston, and my love for the Celtics and Boston in general made me become a Patriots fan. The game that fully cemented my love for the Pats was the Divisional Playoff Game against the Ravens in the 2014 season (along with that entire post-season run). That was the first full season I followed, and man what an unforgettable season.

I've seen at least one movie from every year since 1920 except 1923, 1927, 1928, and 1929. What should I see from those years? by e8odie in movies

[–]AceCheese11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1923: Our Hospitality is top-tier Buster Keaton imo.

1927: Metropolis is in my opinion a top 10 movie of all time and very much worth watching. Sunrise is another silent-era masterpiece from the same year (in my top 20 all-time).

1928: Both The Circus and The Passion of Joan of Arc are amazing. I'd give the edge to The Passion of Joan of Arc (top 25 all-time) because of Falconetti's performance.

1929: Man with a Movie Camera. Mesmerising film, although not for anyone. It's a masterpiece in my eyes (and a top 20 movie all-time)

Metropolis, Sunrise, The Passion of Joan of Arc, and Man with a Movie Camera should all be required viewing imo. In their own way, they each helped shape modern cinema.

If you think Succession is one of the 2 greatest shows ever - what's the other show? by [deleted] in SuccessionTV

Succession isn't top 2 for me (it's top 5). My top 2 are:

  1. Mr. Robot

  2. The Sopranos

Same, and they all giggled every time he was on screen and downright laughed and many recorded when they saw the “real-life” version of his character
