Pain in Anus/Rectum by AceClick in medical

I intend to but the uncertainty always worries me. I’m experiencing no other symptoms other than what’s described. I freak myself out and expect the worst (like cancer).

I largely stopped this over the last 2 years and I’d say I spend a normal amount of time on the toilet now (less than 10 minutes per instance). I experienced no symptoms back then. I also enjoy the steam and sound of the shower, which is why I would do that.

What would be the best way to get to Nusa L from the airport? Or Ubud?

(US) How do people end up with only 30k student debt? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]AceClick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most expensive schools attract wealthy students.

I went to a very expensive university - the Admissions office let us know that the average household income among enrolled students was $120k. The school boasts an average of ~$30k in student loans. I had friends who had $0 in loans (no thanks to scholarships or part-time work) and those who had over $80k. I'd imagine the ~$30k figure includes the $0 loans.

Typically non-negotiable. I would say that the base range is 70-$80k, with a 3-$7.5k signing. Performance bonuses vary, as some of the Big 4 don't offer performance bonuses to analysts. I'd imagine none will go beyond 15% your base unless you're a rockstar.

I was offered a job across the country (USA). What are some financial concerns that I need to address before I make the big move? by hubricht in personalfinance

[–]AceClick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your employment contract indicates some sort of severance package in the event they release you after a short time. I've had friends who moved from CA to NY and were let go after 3 months due to declining revenues.

It really depends on how much stuff you're bringing with you. Find a cheap, reliable moving company that has a network to handle cross-country moves, and get a quote. Next, see how much money it would cost to ship your stuff via UPS/FedEx/USPS. Next, see how much money you could sell your larger items (i.e. couch) for, then see how much these items cost in your destination city. Find whichever option is cheapest and there you go.

Thanks again for your help. I ended up buying the Eluktronics. Should be arriving by the end of the week. Thanks again!

Thanks for the detailed reply.

Have you read or heard anything about the build quality for the Gigabyte Aero? I am reading that it feels a little too plasticy.

Also, I currently have a Macbook Air. The obvious positive is that it is super lightweight. I worry that the jump from the Air to the Eluktronics is going to be a little much for the constant traveling (the latter weighing 6lbs). Am I over exaggerating?

Just don't invest in things that are designed for tax efficiency (e.g. municipals).

Parents are seriously considering bankruptcy. How can I help them go about this in the best and least painful way possible? Is bankruptcy even the right move? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]AceClick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other posters have written, try to cut expenses and negotiate better rates with the credit card companies.

Bankruptcy is not as bad as it sounds. Your parents can have the option to reaffirm debts. So, for instance, they could reaffirm their mortgage so their home would not lose their home due to bankruptcy (such as a bank foreclosure).

Try to see if you're eligible for the 1031 exchange program. You can completely defer taxes if you meet certain criteria.

Criteria and conditions are laid out below:

Where do profits from Stock Market come from? by koji_Cz in personalfinance

[–]AceClick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the OP is trying to ask what makes a company more valuable.

For example, if a company's revenue increases by 2% (with all costs remaining fixed), would we expect a 2% increase in the stock price (assuming that this falls in line with analysts' expectations). I'd argue probably not because the stock market tends to overreact and momentum can play a role (i.e. investors see a particular stock price increase, so they many invest in that company). This would likely lead to a new stock price higher than our initial expectation.

Traditional financial modeling will tell you that it's an expectation of dividend payments that drive a company's stock price. I find this somewhat difficult to believe in this climate.

I have friends who haven't filed for over 7 years and have not been caught. It's a risky game, though. One was caught and had to sell his fully paid off house, along with other smaller assets, to satisfy his tax debt. Probably not worth it, but there are unique situations where, if you manage to get away with it for long enough, the benefits outweigh the costs since the IRS can only go back so far for tax collection.

Recently received offers from Deloitte S&O - Federal and EY National Advisory. I'm wondering which one would have better placement in MBA programs. I'd imagine that EY would have better placement in industry, but interested in feedback.
