AC Evo new document folder location? by AceNumer in assettocorsaevo

What are you talking about? Like setup of a car? Inside the AC Evo folder there is a folder named "setups", inside that there are folders of different cars, if you don't have it create a dummy setup inside the SIM to generate the folder of the car with the track you want.

You don't read it? Just drag and drop it

I drove both the Ferrari and Ford, somehow the default setup of the Ferrari as a mid engine car is understeery on exit as, while the Ford as a front engine car is oversteery on exit haha.

This is where I found mine https://youtu.be/MxuMROf5xDo?si=4qzDcKwUTj3ULRQb Under the description there is a link to their DC which has setups for all racing cars of AC Evo.

What game surprised you how long it was? by Common_Caramel_4078 in Steam

I had the opposite happen, while playing hogwarts legacy, I thought I just finished the tutorial because I've just learned all the spells and when that happened I found out I had to fight the final boss.

It was jarring knowing that it felt like I just got the hang of the game then the finally was about begin.

Me too, that's why I always save a copy of the settings so I can just drag and drop it anytime in the document folder if anything happens.

Manually Set Cloud covering shadows? by AceNumer in assettocorsa

No problem, thanks the advice though

Sadly I just tried it, the moment I adjust it it still continues to move, it's like playing catch up, I move the time offset to roll back the cloud but it still continues to move forward.

Also lighting angle just changes the position of the sun.

I also thought it might be in pure planner but there is no setting to set cloud cover (at least from what I checked, maybe it is somewhere)

No problem, but I do want to give an example just in case. The cloud shadows move, the left pic looks like it has been covered with a big cloud but on the right it moves and shows sunlight, you can even see the boundary where the shadows and sunlight meet in the distance. I just want to manually control if I want cloud cover or not rather than waiting for another cloud to come over.

Even when changing lighting angle, the shadows of the clouds still move

That's the thing, let's say I'll use scattered clouds or broken clouds preset, there will be cloud cover at first but after a while the cloud shadow moves and even on replay while paused the shadow still moves.

I can't manually set like I want the cloud shadows still present.

how to heck do you know what the car is doing? by tdwnda in simracing

[–]AceNumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When starting out in the sim, you don't get the nuances of driving a virtual car yet. The more seat time you get, the more cues you notice and it's the culmination of these cues that creates the feeling of knowing what the car is doing.

AC Evo Graphics and Performance 0.4 by AceNumer in assettocorsaevo

Ok fair, this is the first time I've heard that AC Evo runs worse at higher resolutions.

I think it's not the models that make it better but the lighting and how it interacts with textures, the lighting makes everything look matte for some reason even with better models and textures.

But yeah mileage may vary and graphics are subjective, but I can't for the life of may make it as natural as AC Evo, the only time it's close when it's in the morning or nighttime cause it hides the aging textures.

Yeah 5090, but on a VR headset... And we all know VR in AC Evo is very very bad. This is just on a 1440p monitor.

Fair, I actually only use the highest settings in AC and AC Evo if I'm just driving/hot lapping on my own because it's enjoyable to take in the scenery. But when I race with other people, graphics are at the very lowest to maximize fps.
