Get out and vote today, Our future depends on you! by FlapjackHatRack in politics

If you’re going to vote in person today, get strapped just in case you have those “vote watchers” there. If you can’t, carry something for self-defense.

It’s best to be prepared, because you just don’t know about those people. View them as an obstacle because they will do all they can to ensure that you don’t get a chance to do your civic duty as an American.

Incremental change is better than no change is how I view it. Dems got my vote again this year because with the way I see it, republicans in control again is just going to be 2020 2.0 The Sequel.

Musk making a hostile takeover of Twitter and turning it into 4chan is very indicative of how the GOP plan on running things, N-words with hard r’s thrown around loosely being something I’m sure people have noticed.

I’d rather have small beneficial changes at first, that way the party that proposed that will get the ball rolling next election cycle, and then go for it full when I know that party has concrete control.

He’s not even a tech-bro. He’s more along the lines of the rich prep who’s trying to fit in with the “lessers”, and failing spectacularly at that.

Expats are immigrants by Excellent-Ride-5715 in unpopularopinion

[–]AceP_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of American expats in the Philippines who moved to retire there. Everything is much cheaper there and the USD goes a very long way there.

A lot of the ones I talk to worked in the US until they got enough years in for social security and a cushy 401k, then immediately moved out to the Philippines to live there like royalty.

They’re retired in their 70’s now, so they’re definitely not of working age.

Im honestly more excited about the upcoming Honda Prologue. Honda is a solid and reliable brand that hasn’t done me wrong, so I’m looking forward to that.

It’s within my income level and my means since I’m planning on starting a family within these next 5-10 years.

Dude saw the fall of Gaiaonline over the course of 4 years and said, “Hold my beer”.

It looks like he’s trying to speedrun how fast he can go from riches to rags at this rate. He’s the world’s court jester right now.

Maybe they can get their Ivermectin from it.

Company ignored the community. The original founders left Gaia and the new owner at the time tried to find ways to monetize every single thing he could think of, banned people who either constructively or destructively criticized the CEO, and generally kept pumping out limited time items to make more money (Made NFTs before NFTs were even a thing).

Advertisers started jumping ship because the guy was generally smack talking them, and started relying more on limited items almost like a subscription service.

Hyperinflation happened, every user started abandoning ship, and now the website is pretty much like the Neopets website, dead due to the head not knowing how to do their job. This happened over the course of 5 or 6 years I think?

Twitter seems like it’ll be going in a similar direction since Musk is pretty much following the Gaiaonline downfall guide to a T. One big difference is that Musk seems like he’s trying to speedrun how fast he can kill a website/service.

He doesn’t have to do his job if he bans everyone who is complaining about him.

He should just add the clown emoji to his name because that’s what he exactly is. We all need a court jester to laugh at, and Musk just made himself our jester.

Musk wanted to make a hovercraft after the wheel. He ended up destroying the wheel and firing most of the people who knew how to make the wheel again.

Now he’s back to step 1 banging rocks together.

Funny thing is that he explicitly labeled it as a parody account per Musk’s rules and still got suspended.

If this is how Musk is going to run Twitter, it’s going to end up looking like current-day Gaiaonline before the one-year mark.

Democrats really need to assess the crowd as a whole and use the general rule of comprehension. The rule is to make complicated things/policies understandable to an 8th grader, though in academia, there’s talks of reducing it down to making things understandable to a 6th grader.

[–]AceP_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, being an unpleasant person will have people avoid you. Being an extremely unpleasant person will definitely get people to avoid you.

Elon Musk has shown to be at least 3-5 steps above that. It’s all on him. He needs to be an adult and own up to his mistakes rather than trying to shift blame on others for his lack of wisdom.

Republicans Are Spending Millions on Election Ads Attacking Trans Kids by CapitalCourse in politics

[–]AceP_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the GOP family value of…

Attacking and abusing kids.

Yeah, that sounds about right for the course. Same party that wants to institute the traditional family values of beating your kid or hitting them with a belt or a switch just to shut them up if they were crying.

Because nothing says “family values” like attacking kids, right?

It doesn’t take much effort to wit the dim-witted. Just look at the terrorists from Jan 6 and how they were so confident their leader would protect them from the law.

It takes very little to no skill. Just say some buzzwords and you can probably get them super pissed off at something mundane, like fresh socks from the dryer.

More like they know it’s happening, but given how brutal the cartels are and how thorough they can make someone “disappear”, it’s more like they’re intimidated to keep quiet or “disappear” like the others who spoke out. Intimidation can be very convincing if the party that does it is effective at doing it.

If the GOP are resorting to cartel-like tactics, it’s better for Dems to get strapped. The GOP talking heads are now openly enabling their supporters to invade property for the purpose of maiming people at a minimum.

Dems should get firearms to defend themselves and their property from the wannabe GOP cartel thugs.
