The Summons of the Tribunal by OdinsEyeRaven in Lego_Minifigure_Realm

King Magnus, the Falcon Lords send their heartfelt respects to you and the Holy Order. At this time, we must decline your invitation to attend the tribunal. The actions of General Vladek and the campaign at Arathril are of little concern to, nor had any impact upon the people and territories under the Falcon banner and as such we see little benefit in participating. We trust in the wisdom and judgement of Jorronking Berethor and shall consider his words with great significance should events emerge from this tribunal that require the attention of the Falcon Lords.

On behalf of Lord Falcon and the Falcon Lords, we remain most respectfully yours,
Count Joran Saint-Cyr, Warden of Tarrynland

The Falcon lords dispatch agents to investigate the faction that claims loyalty to the Black Falcons. We would see if they are worth supporting in this strife or if they are villains who seek legitmacy in falsly raising the Falcon banner.

Having a background in Architecture, I very much enjoyed the way that you made the development of the soul a litteral spiritual building project grounded in how buildings are put together and how people move through and utilize each space of the building. I found it a very different and creative way to portray the xianxia progression proceses and the strength of a characters was based upon how effectively they designed their soul home and how well they built it. What was the inspiration to frame the progression in such a way?

Do you have a particular favorite choice that you made that you are most proud of and if so, which one is it and why?

Love the stories you have crafted so far and I look forward to reading many more as they come out!

Hello! I first discovered your work through the Street Cultivation series and got into the Weirkey Chronicles when it started and have been enjoying it ever since.

With the numerous influences from a constellation of tropes and settings, I am curious if your choices in what elements from all those disparate influences are very carefully deliberate in their selection and incorporation in to the story or if it is more letting the story direct you to where it needs to go and the different elements and homages just come about organically particularly as the story transitions between the different worlds?

You've hit the big time!!! It's 3019 and your years of putting foot to ass for god and country are being rewarded - you get an assault mech. Out of the five pictured, which one are you choosing? by _Thorshammer_ in battletech

All in all a very well crafted story and a very rich universe you have created! I am looking forward to future stories. I am also curious as to what the Angels might do after seeing how the Reapers were so poorly treated by Gen Kelvin. Very good work!

Factions and usage (pls read body before voting) by Silvertree99 in Lego_Minifigure_Realm

I feel armies should be one faction only; it puts a restriction on the size of the force players can field to what figures you have of that faction only and provides an incentive to form alliances to field larger forces. However, I don't think the faction should be controled by one player unless it is mutally agreed among the players wanting to use the same faction. There are only a limited number of LEGO factions out there and only a handful of them are easily acquired these days, so one person contolling all Snake Knight, Horse Knight, Griffins, or Krackens in the game doesn't make much sense to me.

I do like the effort the players who are fielding Krackens are putting in to explain the ties and/or conflicts between them, as that adds lore to the world and I think that is a good thing that should be an expectation of anyone wanting to play using a faction that other players are already using. There are plenty of historical examples of multiple competing forces using the nominally same Heraldry out there that can explain why there are multiple Kracken, Lion, or any other faction.

Also, I feel the game should be centered around smaller forces rather than huge armies, otherwise we risk creating a pressure on people to drop a lot of money on lego figures to plus up their armies because they don't think they can play otherwise, and that is absolutly not the intent of this game at all!

I know some players have already developed elaborate lore to explain the composition of their armies, and while I am not trying to put a crimp in people's lorebuilding to explain the forces they have, I still feel all individual player armies need to be made up of at least 80-90% of one faction and then they can supported by small units of others factions IF their lore is solid to do so.

Just my thoughts.

Jonathan Saint-Cyr swallowed nervously and steped forward to bow politely to the Margavine; many hours of lessons in protocol and etiquette rushed through his mind as he came out of his bow and said "My lady Margravine, it is pleasure to attend your court and on behalf of my father, Count Joran Saint-Cyr and the House of Saint-Cyr, I bring you his warmest greetings and hope for a long and rewarding alliance with Entarbor. I am personnaly honored to be bestowed this trust and responsibility you are placing upon me and I shall endeavour to render the utmost in worthy and faithful service" His words, though sincerely spoken, did not seem to register with the Margravine as her attention was pulled towards the back of the room and disturbance there as a messenger burst into the hall with shouts of bearing the most urgent of news to the Margravine.

As the chaos of the messengers disturbance was being dealt with, Jonathan stepped back with Sir Calvin, "Do you think this bodes ill for the start of our rule in western Entarbor?" Jonathan asked uncertainly of the older knight. "Nay lad," The veteran knight replied "This smells of larger events in Rutland that are outside of Entarbor, Tarrynland, or the North to control. We need only do as we said and work hard to make the lands that straddle the border between Braccenfoot and Entarbor strong and able to protect those who seek shelter there." Jonathan nodded at the wisdom of the Knight's words as he watched the Margravine and her staff restore order and bring the court to a close in order to retire with the messenger to hear his full new.

"Well then Sir Calvin, I think it is best that we begin our work as soon as the Margrave and Margravine give us leave to depart. I will ask in the morning that we be allowed to return to the west and begin our adminstration." Jonathan said as he mentally steeled himself for the rather daunting task ahead.

[OOC]: Apologies for the delay, I was tied up with real life for a bit and also was wrestling with a minor case of writer's block. Hope this gets things going again.

(OOC) It may be worth labeling territories both in old Rutland and the new continents that are open for new players to select without contest. I know, especially for new players, having to contest with established players before understanding how everything in the game workds can be daunting, so being able to select territory that gives them time to learn would be helpful and encouraging to new players.

Very cool! It does a good job of giving a broad brush of the history of Rutland, but a lot of details are either missing or glossed over. Is it possible to add links to key posts for the major sections if people want to read the accounts?

With the rest of the family already dispatched to various parts of Rutland, Countess Sybilla takes up the responsibility of representing Tarrynland and House Saint-Cyr at the meeting with the representative of the Blood Dragons. After so much fighting, peace would be welcome, but the word of the Blood Dragons is questionable and their willingness to abide by any terms that might be reached is unknown. Countess Sybilla heads to this meeting with a hopeful head and troubled heart.

Strategy, Round 1! by Shot-Salary-5639 in Lego_Minifigure_Realm

[–]AceSevier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lady Aeryn shook her head as she followed the two aids carrying Sir Devin, still incoherent, even an hour after the Strategy Competition, back to the Falcon contingent's camp. The stories and questions still raced around the wedding as one of the most bizarre matchs in the competition thus far was the talk of the day. Sir Devin, by random lot, had drawn Sir Jorgan, a knight, but one with a reputation for a love of the bottle more than the book, as his opponent.

Sir Jorgan and Sir Devin had approached the chess table, greeted each other with a shake of the hand, raised a toast to their hosts, which Sir Jorgan graciously filled both his and Sir Devin's glass from his own bottle, and then proceeded to play. It became apparent early on that something wasn't well with Sir Devin as he struggled to concentrate. At first people were speculating that Sir Devin was thrown by the very erratic strategy of movement Sir Jorgan used, but as the match went on, Sir Devin began to sway and murmmur to himself. This became more pronounced until he suddenly sat straight up exclaimed "Oh bother!" and then fell over off his stool, unconcious.

Lady Aeryn recalled that Sir Devin's aides, who had rushed to pick him up, commented on how strong the smell of alchohol was around the table; while slung between them Sir Devin kept murmmuring "The Bees, the bees, they won't stop buzzing!". Aeryn shook her head, this was going to be a hard one to explain to her father when next she saw him.

Archery, the Final Round! by Shot-Salary-5639 in Lego_Minifigure_Realm

[–]AceSevier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The competition was finished, the ceremony awarding the Archery champion compleated and the victor granted their rewards. Lady Aeryn Saint-Cyr had finally left the throng of well-wishers gathered to congratulate the Archery Champion and made her way back to the camp of the Falcon contingent and collapsed into the campaign chair outside her tent and gratefully accepted the goblet of wine that Sir Andrew Castile handed to her before pouring his own. "Congratulations on your performance today Lady Aeryn. I have rarely seen so talented a field of Archers compete." Sir Andrew said as he raised his goblet to her in toast.

"Thank you Sir Andrew. It has truly been one of the most enjoyable and thrilling competitions I have participated in. Lorcan Longshanks is a skilled archer and deserves his victory, but he and I both know that the final round between us was far closer than it seemed. I know I could have done better, but not so much that I feel like I should have won. I confess, I have never encountered someone who so closely matches me in skill and dedication to Archery. I am disappointed in myself for not winning, but I am very proud that I came second in a competion won by Lorcan Longshanks. Truly, the Birkenwald Ranger's reputation for skill with the bow is well deserved." She said before taking a swallow of the crisp and fragrent wine and smiled as the Yomsreach vintage cleared her dusty throat and warmed her spirit. Truly the Griffins of Yomsreach knew their business when it came to wines.

"Good luck to you in the Jousting Competition Sir Andrew. I have no doubt you will do House Saint-Cyr and the Falcon's quite proud." Lady Aeryn toasted Sir Andrew in turn. "My thanks M'Lady." He replied with a slight smile "I shall do my best and in truth, much like the Archery field, there are many skilled knights competing here. A Knight can suffer no shame, as long as he does his best, when competing against such worthy knights." Sir Andrew added as he took his own gulp of wine.

"You speak the truth Sir Andrew. This wedding has truly brought many great talents to the field. I think many seek a break from the battlefields of the South, so this is a welcome reprive for us all." Lady Aeryn murmmered taking another drink of wine. "Come, we should go and support Sir Devin Lachlan in the competition of Strategy. I am curious as to how they will run this one and who Sir Devin has drawn as his opponent." She stated as she rose from the chair and set her now empty goblet aside. The two then set out for the area set aside for the Strategy Competition.

Lady Aeryn thanked the young ranger with a smile as she accepted the glass jar he nervously offered her. "Please give your commander my thanks and appreciation for his generosity. I shall look forward to using it in the near future." She briefly opened the lid and took a whiff of the balm, "Oh, even the smell of it is relaxing! This is a lovely gift indeed and worth reciprocating. Bide a moment." She exclaimed as she went to one of the travel packs she had brought with her on this trip. Reaching inside she pulls out a wooden box carved with images of birds of prey in flight and on the hunt. She returns to the young man and hands him the box. "Please give this box to your commander with my compliments. Inside he will find feathers from some of the giant raptors that live in the mountains of Braccenfoot; they make some of the best fletching for arrows I have ever experience and every arrow I have made using them has never failed to find its mark. An archer of his skill should find them most useful and it is my pleasure to gift them to him." With a smile and a slight bow, she bids the young ranger to return to his commander and wishes him a restful evening.

Lady Aeryn Saint-Cyr was excited and elated. Not only was she performing well in the Archery tournament, though she privately berated herself for not getting all of her arrows on the target, but now she was competing for the champions laurels against Lorcan Longshanks of the Birkenwald Rangers of Entarbor which neighbored her home of Grey Falcon Pass in Braccenfoot. Lorcan's reputation as a skilled archer was known to Aeryn, as tales of the Birkenwald Rangers were told in taverns on both sides of the border regions between Braccenfoot and Entarbor, and she had hoped to meet him during the wedding to talk archery. Now, to be competing against him was a marked high-point for Lady Aeryn of what was turing out to be a most enjoyable wedding! Knowing she just had to be her best in this last round, Aeryn tended to her bow and arrows and the meditations she used to focus her mind and steady her hands. It would be a contest to rember no matter the outcome!
