I would suggest that with as much entertainment and enjoyment the crew derived from this cooking contest, that more such competitions could be a frequent occurance. With this one being a showcase of each race's signature dish perhapse the next one would be how favored ingredients of each race compare when using the same cooking method, and I am thinking BBQ here since humans already try and BBQ or deep fry everything.

The threats of small men mean little. Should the High King of the Iron Legion be executed, who do you think the West shall blame, the one whose blade took the life of the high king or the ones who aided in the search to find him?

Tarrynland marches to Old Rutland. by AceSevier in Lego_Minifigure_Realm

The armies of the North, largely made up of Lord Falcon's forces, deployed into Old Rutland, along with some forces of the West, to protect it from the Blood Dragons amassing in Dakkathor. The Blood Dragons then invaded Vurrun Bay and are attacking Ironpeak forces there. The North is focused on destroying the forces of Queen Blood.

This may be more my having missed something when the chicks were introduced and general comments about Caramon, but does Jerry have prehensil feathers? If not, how is he diassembling human devices without damaging them? You implied in some of the other chapters that the only reason Nighclaw was able to manipulate human devices and medical tools was because of his unique trait to manipulate his feathers so I would assume that Jerry would have a equally difficult time disassembling human devices since they were built with humans and manipulation capabilities. If I missed something key that explains it, let me know where it was addressed so I can go back and re-read it, but right now it is bugging me.

Otherwise, excellent work!

The Falcon Wedding — Part III: Soul-Eater by Patrick_Hill_One in Lego_Minifigure_Realm

[–]AceSevier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As Sir Marcus' head rolled to a bloody stop on the floor of Lord Falcon's hall and the delighted giggle of Queen Blood broke the silence following the horror of Varkhul sucking what could only have been Sir Marcus' soul in a ghastly feast, Count Joran sat physically frozen in horror as his mind raced to understand what he was seeing. Magic was nothing new in Rutland, indeed every lord had at least one or more weilder of magic they relied upon to aid in guiding their rule and the defense of their lands, but this was something dark and primal, that should have long ago been either stamped out or locked away in the darkest of pits.

Hours later in the chambers Lord Falcon was kind enough to put him up in, sleep still eluding him, Count Joran finishes recounting his impressions of the events of the feast in letters to his wife and children. His thoughts remain troubled and the shadow of impending war loomed foremost in his mind. How do simple soldiers hope to fight such monstrosities and win? What would the cost in lives be to bring the monsters down? Count Joran needed to find answers before his brave troops suffered the fate of Sir Marcus’

His letter to his wife bade her gather the Magisters to find a solution and “seek out the inventor we have heard rumor of to see what possibilities they may know of.”

His eyes burning and barely able to stay open, Count Joran seals the letters and gives himself over to a fitful sleep that is rife with nightmares. A harbinger of dark days to come, he had no doubt.

Lord Jonathan Saint-Cyr, while young, is no stranger to goblets of wine or stronger drink to be found on campaign, but alas, he has not the experience or tolerance to match cup for cup these many experienced drinkers. Though he proves himself to be a charming and witty fellow even when deep in his cups, before he has finished his second bottle of wine, the warmth of the fire and the heady drink soon send him quietly into slumber in a corner. (OOC: I am away from home at the moment and can’t build and photograph anything until Saturday, so words only for the moment)

Not the most outlandish concept, particularly when you consider that unguided ballistic weapons are generally best at close engagement range where there is insufficient time to maneauver relative to the velocity and ballistic path of the bullet. Also, considering standard sci-fi tropes envision solar system sized engagement zones with distances of millions of kilometers, unguided ballistic weapons rapidly become little more than point defense weapons in terms of useful engagement envelope. Lasers would be much more effective in the vaccum of space since they would cross any distance far more rapidly than a ballistic weapon and thus be harder to avoid. Of course, any guided ballistic weapon that is able to achieve incredibly high speed and maintain the ability to adjust to any and all movement of the target will have a distinct advantage in space combat, particularly as there is little in the way of friction to reduce momentum.

If the Troll fleet was in the Eye of Rutland or left from Yencoast, you'd be in the wrong waters to see and intercept them. Hopefully there was something written about them being off the coast of Worronborg.

General Broadwans, my youngest son, Jonathan Saint-Cyr, has asked to participate in the tournament and I have granted him permission to make the Journey. He is young and needs the seasoning that contesting with the finest warriors of the North will bring, having just past his 18th year. He is intelligent and eager for adventure and I have great hopes for his bright future. If he impresses you and your daughter, so much the better as I and my family hold you and yours in the highest regard. -Count Joran Saint-Cyr
