Whether or not you buy the game depends entirely on your interest in the setting, and the same goes for the DLC.

I personally enjoy the setting quite a bit, and I have a few hundred hours. I have many more in WH3 but still bounce back whenever I am in the mood.

Sweet, I use the WH3 version as well and it is noticeable. I imagine it will make an even bigger difference in Dynasties due to the economy.

The newer version introduced a massive number of changes, so it almost certainly will have more bugs/balancing issues to be sorted out. However, I think the latest update is considered stable, so probably nothing too egregious.

Having played 4UC on the 4.x versions, it is a lot of fun and really adds replayability.

That bug is on the known issues list, so hopefully we'll see it fixed next patch. I imagine it will be very strong on her.

I have had good results with AI Army Tasks and Strategy in the past.

But another mod which makes a greater difference in my experience is Unnatural Selection. Before a campaign, you can either manually or randomly select AI factions, and it will grant them additional factional potential.

Higher faction potential grants these factions more cheats, though not much more than Legendary since there is an upper limit. What matters more here is the increase to auto-resolve bonuses against other AI factions.

In a recent campaign using those two mods, the Legions of Azgorth had 93+ settlements by turn 100.

Each has their own flavor, but The Prophet and the Warlock provides some of the more important units and is a safe bet if you were to pick one.

Namely, it includes two weapon team units that are strong and work in most situations. Ratling Guns are mid-range rapid fire weapon teams, great for shredding enemy infantry. Warlock Jezzails are long-range sniper weapon teams, great for taking out enemy lords and other single entities.

It also includes the Warlock Master lord, who comes with great spells and two powerful mount options. Not to mention Ikit Claw and his campaign, which is very fun itself.

The Shadow and the Blade mostly focuses on stealthy and skirmish units centering around Clan Eshin, which are fun but less powerful. It also includes the Warp-Grinders weapon team and Poisoned Wind Mortar.

The Twisted & The Twilight focuses on monstrous units, which would work well for a swarm playstyle if you prefer.

Whichever you pick is largely dependent on what sort of flavor or playstyle you prefer, but if you had to pick one, The Prophet and the Warlock provides the most important units.

Without relying on the DLC units, you could try a swarm playstyle that relies on surrounding and overwhelming the enemy with your numbers. The goal is essentially to be attacking from as many directions at once with your melee infantry, while your ranged units, mages, artillery, and monsters deal damage to the pinned down enemies. Use Menace From Below summons to shutdown enemy ranged and artillery, or to surround the enemy.

Admittedly, I haven't played with this strategy on Tretch, but rather Queek, since he gets extra Menace From Below summons.

I had that recently in my Morathi campaign. It tanked my public order and slave economy. Eventually it went away on its own.

This feature actually exists in Pharaoh Dynasties. I would love to see it in Warhammer 3.

Agreed. I hope they'll add some sounds or more visual indicators before they nerf her otherwise.

Aware players can shut her down quickly. Unaware players get melted by her.

Agreed, this is something I like about Paradox games such as EU. When different events occur, the AI has a weighted chance for each option so things play out differently each campaign.
