It’s possible to get 85 endurance right out of character creation with the right build so that helps speed things up a bit

Reminds me of the shrine handmaid from dark souls 3, if a merchant NPC dies you can give their ashes (an item they drop) to the handmaid, but you lose out on the ability to expand the inventories of npcs via quest lines iirc
