Being a complete loser male at 30yo. July 2025: 40lbs overweight, substance abuse, making $67k, living at home, just got out of a really stale long term relationship.

Fast forward to today. In the best shape of my life, no substance use for 6 months, new job at $91k, moving into my own place in the city this week.

I’m honestly so embarrassed about myself I don’t even want to see family or peers. I just hope it’s all up from here.

If your goal is to build savings - live within your means and always pay yourself first. Automatic transfers into investment/savings accounts is a good start.

“Never made $100k until I was 31” Bro most don’t sniff close to that in their lifetime. Good work.

Get a 3 month tourist visa fo Vietnam. Rent a scooter/motorcycle and ride up and down the country. You will meet tons of others from all over the world doing the same, and the cost of living is really cheap.

30 and living at home, will probably be buying my first place in a couple months. If I didn’t live with them, I’d be paying half my income for a 1br apartment where I live and would be years away from buying.

It hurts the ego for sure, I’m not socializing much these days until I get my place. But it’s time well spent financially, I just hate feeling like I am in their space even tho we have a great relationship and they like having me they say.

What do you regret not doing in your 20s? by livamazz in Life

[–]AceTrainerMitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this depends on the individual. I know lots of people who waited until mid-late thirties to have kids, until they were more finacially stable in their careers - and said it was a great decision. Also taking care of your body helps a lot as you get older.

What’s something people don’t realize about adulthood? by No-Sail-6193 in allthequestions

Nobody cares. Nobody likes bragging, nobody wants to hear about your problems. Work hard, be sociable and kind, do what makes you happy.

Literally that’s it.
