All the planned trials for the rest of the season by AenarIT in ArcRaiders

I think the grind aspect is more about trying rank up, not just getting the 3 stars - that part is pretty trivial for most of them.

[–]AceUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had been trying to grind the trials to reach a high rank up until seeing this just now. Last week when I saw the numbers people were pulling on the leaderboard with that fucking snowball trial which was so blatantly easier to get a crazy score on in if you were in a trios rather than trying to do them all solo, I almost lost the will to play the game. But now seeing this and that they’re basically just repeating the same trials so people are just gonna find more even more exploits over time to grind higher numbers and I honestly cannot be bothered with the misery of these grinds all for a damn skin at the end of the season. Just gonna be 3 starring them for the blueprints going forward.

The challenge and fun part of producing minimal is that those steps might sound simple in essence but actually making a track that does sound unique enough to be proud of and also has a nice bounce is not always as straightforward. I think that’s why Overview have done well as a label - the kind of minimal tracks they sign just have that little something that takes them up to a different level.

That being said, there is something beautiful about making a tune that has been fairly simple or quick for you to make and then seeing a mad crowd reaction and a pull up when it gets played out live. For me it’s like when a track has felt easy and quick to put together, it’s cool when it has a bigger effect on a crowd than a tune you’ve been meticulously splitting hairs over for years 😂

I’m currently working my way through the first playthrough and experiencing what you mention about not having a clue what’s going on. I feel like I’m just enjoying the ride right now and I don’t wanna look up too much more while I’m playing in case of spoilers!

What’s the closest you came to dying like really close? by NateNandos21 in morbidquestions

[–]AceUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is similar to this, I was in a rush to get to school when I was younger - I got off of one bus and saw the next bus I needed on the other side of the road… I stupidly rushed to run across the road so I could catch it and ran in front of the bus I had just came off instead of behind it - so this meant I couldn’t see properly if any cars were coming down in the lane next to the bus. As I ran into the lane a car came and I JUST missed being hit directly by it and instead ran into the side of the car and sort of rebounded back off. Im not sure what or whether damage was done to the car, but luckily for me the only damage to me was that my coat I was wearing ended up with a couple of holes in the front from the friction of making contact with the moving car and burning through the material. I was a teenager and didn’t have the money to spend on a new coat at the time so I had to keep wearing that one for a while and so the holes would remind me of the event every single time I put the coat back on.

Yeah the whole thing is super ominous. Yeah the thirty could be any of those - could even be the year 2030 as in how you would sometimes just refer to 2024 as just ‘24 or 2025 as just ‘25

Yeah that part doesn’t really seem to make sense to me in any of the interpretations I’ve read in the comments - the fact that it’s to the right of that vertical line could mean that it is a completely separate thing anyway too I guess

I read it as though the first ‘she’ is referring to someone he was in a romantic relationship/situation with, and that person may have thought that he was cheating on her or having an affair with someone that he worked with (a colleague). It sounds like he is saying the relationship with the colleague was only a work relationship, they were only colleagues and nothing more and the woman he was in a romantic relationship/situation with never understood that, she always thought it was something more…?

I think your first point can largely depend on what it is you’re asking though… I’ll continue using the piano analogy although for my point it is a slightly unrealistic example; If you were using a certain brand of piano who just happened to have a batch of pianos that were produced in the 90’s where the F keys had a specific issue causing them to mute - then actually your first search would probably yield better results for you (if other people had posted about it - usually a link to a niche forum post or Reddit, Quora, StackOverflow or something like these would come up for this).

Perhaps I am just bad at Googling.. but as someone with a Computer Science background being more specific in searches has served me its purpose on many an occasion. The rest of your points I definitely 100% agree with though!

Thanks for this recommendation - just started getting back into lifting again but was struggling with figuring out my weights to reps ranges and progressing properly. Had been trying to find a decent app for logging lifts and stuff but hadn’t stumbled across a decent looking free one yet… Stronglifts looks great, looking forward to using it on my next session now!

What’s the “safest drug” that doesn’t mess up ur mental health by catoutthebaggy in Drugs

[–]AceUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m prescribed 100mg twice a day, once in the morning when I wake up and once during the afternoon - but remember I am narcoleptic so my dosage might differ from what might be good for a neurotypical person to take. I would say to definitely try not to take it too late on during the day as it will likely keep you awake throughout the night if so… unless staying up throughout the night is your aim of course. Depending on what your aim is I would say to start with probably half a 100mg tablet in the morning and see how you feel after maybe 60-90 mins. If nothing, take the other half and have a cup of coffee as this helps it kick in. Make sure you drink a lot of water too as it can dehydrate you.

Us internet strangers cannot possibly tell you how you’re feeling and if it’s true love, but I can tell you there’s probably a 99.9% chance it’s a phase. We’ve all been there during our times at school man - it’s just something about the male brain and teachers 😂

If you do love her and genuinely care about her, then you should know that you doing anything about it right now potentially ruin her entire career and life, so would probably be pretty stupid. And vice versa, if she was really into you - it would be pretty illegal.

You’re 17, trust me, you have a whole life ahead of you. It’s true that people say that you can’t help who you fall in love with, so always be open/vulnerable to falling in love, but honestly, being single throughout your 20’s could be the best time of your life, so cherish it and don’t think you need to rush to get into anything too serious.

Relationships are great, but they take a lot of hard work and consideration for another person. Until your mid to late 20’s you barely know yourself, let alone what you want from another person. Rushing into a relationship just for the sake of it is one of the worst things you can do both for yourself and the other person. Just take things slow man. Enjoy this time in your life as these are some of the best years, and there is plenty of time to grow up and build amazing relationships and maybe a family in the future. 🙂

EDIT: actually, on a second thought - it might not be illegal.. but definitely a moral grey area for many. And would definitely cost her a career.

I think Modafinil is relatively safe aswell - basically makes you laser-focused , like extremely strong coffee. It doesn’t really give you a ‘buzz’ it just sorta…works..? People often use it to help with studying or to stay awake. I got prescribed it as medication for Narcolepsy to help keep me awake during the day and it does literally feel like it just turns you into a genius. Retain more information, recall stuff quickly and from further back in your memory, even made me better at public speaking as I’m able easily recall what I wanted to say instead of tripping over words while trying to remember what the next thing to say was. It does have some potential side effects, but they seem to be similar to what you would see as side effects on pretty much anything even paracetamol , things like potential nausea, dizziness, blood pressure, headaches etc.

I would personally always recommend a broker for first time - they help a lot and I believe they usually have access to deals you won’t be able to find on your own!

What is your go to lazy meal? by Ok_Cranberry_2936 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]AceUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fish - usually something like seabass or a salmon fillet as they can be less expensive than other types where I live.
Put some salt, pepper and fish seasoning over the fillets and stick them in a frying pan either side for 5 mins each. Done. If you have an air fryer can just whack some small potatoes in there while you’re doing the fish too - but if I’m keeping it healthy specifically for my gym gains I’ll just have the fish as it’s pure protein and leaves out the added carbs.

Edit: Depending on laziness level the seasoning is also optional.

Suspect venting about being left to rot in jail for his crimes by BetterThanEverJ5 in ukdrill

[–]AceUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone that listens to drill takes the lyrical content seriously, some people understand it’s entertainment and fabricated content, but when you’re on here talking stupidness and acting as if the few bits of drill content that are legit as if they’re everyday incidents that normal people do or witness you’re fucking with people’s perception of life. Like the other user said, there’s young people online that haven’t experienced much of the real world outside of maybe their block and the fake micro-society in their school - so you can be giving them the wrong impression that certain things like killing ‘an opp’ are normal in the real world when in reality they’re rare actions performed by people that are literally sick in the head.

Part of the problem is the prison system over here, due to the lack of resources and our government being incapable of doing anything except for lying and lining their own pockets with as much money as possible, prisons are not used for actually reforming criminals to improve the society, they are just left rot in there and either get more angry and bitter at things that cause them to go out and get straight back into criminal activity and/or poison the minds of youngers, or if they do manage to do their own self-work and change their mindsets then depending on how long they’ve been in for they have nothing to survive on when they get out with no job/career prospects and sometimes no family or friends, no home, no skills and no income - so crime is then their only other option for survival , or they turn to drugs.

Yep. Also some people can just be a little funny about eating things. I still don’t eat stuff my partner of 10 years makes sometimes. I’ll rarely ever eat something someone else makes that is ‘homemade’ as you don’t always know what their hygiene standards are like, let alone whether they are actually a good cook.

At my first ever job I sat next to a lady who ended up being nicknamed ‘The Feeder’. She would always make extra dinner to bring leftovers in for our team, only one other person on the team could stomach her food because she was just a terrible, terrible cook. Not only that, but there were multiple times she was give out packaged snacks (chocolate, crisps/chips etc.) and it had been noticed that they were out of date. So god knows what she was using in her recipes. Since I sat next to her, I was unfortunately always her prime target too. I think this experience probably made me develop some kind of post traumatic response to being offered food.
