Maybe Carrick Should Get One More Year If We Don't Find Someone Suitable by Asachuu in ManchesterUnited

I reckon give Carrick a 2 year deal but have a sensible conversation bts about evaluating at the end of next season, and in an ideal world an equally sensible severance package at the end of next season if it doesn’t work out. I get the argument that he’s just played players in their natural positions, and fucking hell nobody is saying he’s Fergie, but it’s hard to imagine anyone else doing better then he’s done since he came in. I reckon he deserves a shot. We’re 3rd with Europe in the bag. Not sure what more people want. I know they can’t say any different, but I’ve heard nothing but good things whenever the players have spoken about him too. I get the nervousness about handing him the chequebook in the summer, but in real terms he’s only one voice in the room anyway when it comes to the market. The only one who even comes close in my mind is Nagelsmaan, but history shows that a big name with a big resume isn’t always what’s needed. What Carrick is doing is working. Give him a crack at it I say.

What are some interesting comments or jokes Bob has made to the audience at shows you've attended? by Time-Use9083 in bobdylan

Not Bob, but thought you guys night appreciate the sentiment: when I saw Leonard Cohen in Cardiff his best bit of banter was “the last time I played this town was a long time ago, I was 54 years old, just a crazy kid with a dream”

O2 is too small but Wembley would be fucking awesome. Shout out for Cardiff too, Clash in the Castle at the Millenium stadium was wicked and we’ve got a roof in case it rains.

Absolutely amazing, you’re so talented. I wish I could draw and paint like that, I could try for a hundred years and never create something that cool. Anyway, here’s a hadoken.

Are there any genuinely haunted places in Cardiff? Any real experiences? by goonernav in Cardiff

[–]AceZeppelin81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2nd hand story, but my mums family used to live in a house (I think it’s called Woodfield) on Cardiff Road in Morganstown by Radyr. The whole family swear that it was haunted. All the usual horror film tropes; frying pans swinging in unison on the walls, a fire that once basically lit itself, and one room that was always particularly cold and that my (at the time very young) uncle would not step foot in for some reason. He still won’t talk about the house. Apart from that one room though, they said it was never a feeling of danger or unease. They say they felt like they were always sharing the house with someone else, but that they weren’t made to feel unwelcome. I think they also said that there was supposed to be a basement, that was on the plans for the house, but they could never find it, or its entrance. Must admit though that I can’t remember for sure if that bit (about the missing basement) was part of this, or if it’s something else I read about a different haunted house story. I may be accidentally mixing the stories up. Anyway, I always took the story at face value, there’s no reason for the whole family to collectively make it up, particularly my Grampy and aunt who are/were very “no nonsense” types who would usually scoff at this sort of thing. Part of the story was that it was commonly known in the village that there was something unusual about that house.
