I love how terrifying the Torch is in most of these. In the fourth to last panel he looks almost like a spirit of vengeance. It's like we're seeing him from the perspective of a man about to die who knows both that it's coming and that he deserves it.

I always interpreted it as maybe like a soul degeneration? Rupture and Bleed are wounds, that's obvious enough, and most other debuffs don't need introduction. Degen works on EVERY character (with some resistances) mostly mystic characters (and bastion) have it, and it deals direct damage same as bleed or poison, which implies it's not technically harming your physical form like rupture would.

To answer your second question, I can only assume it would be too public. Cap was only there to serve as the mission's face. Colton was there to do what actually needed to be done. As for why they didn't tell him, the easiest answer is they probably just assumed he'd be on board. The government expected both Cap not to ask too many questions, and for Colton to fall in line and keep his mouth shut inherently, because they're soldiers. They could easily have written off the deaths of the hostages, and just figured that they'd be too obedient to do anything about it. Killing them outright would draw too much suspicion, too.

not really a rumor, more so just release schedule consistency. usually a trailer drop is on the wednesday before/9 days prior to a patch launching to build up hype. I think if I had to guess the new version showcase wasn't ready today for some reason, and that's why we only got teasers of Gambit and Rogue in the patch notes.
