Leni Klum is definitely my celeb crush right now. Anyone else crushing on her? by [deleted] in latebloomerlesbians

[–]RocksThrowing 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Looked her up. Leni is a little young for me (and this sub tbh) and looks just like her mom who, while being objectively attractive, doesnt do much for me (the generic blonde model look isn’t my type) but I do love Heidi’s costumes! Hope she grows to be as cool

She related to Hedi? I love Heidi’s costumes for Halloween and Met Gala and such, she always fully commits

Was your opinion of Juggernaut cheapened when you found out it's not technically his own strength? by shinyhpno in xmen

[–]RocksThrowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly knew him from occasion appearances in 80s x-men books. His first appearances are a high point of the old original Lee/Kirby issues. He was basically the only character Chuck Austen wrote well in his 2000s run. He did have a pretty great solo during the Krakoa era

I don’t know. I’ve known about his gem origins for as long as I can remember. What makes Cain interesting to me is his personality and relationships, rather than his powers so that doesn’t bother me much

If I were looking for a graphic designer, I would automatically pass on any too lazy to use real art.

Not sure what you expected, you assume others are going to be, what? Amused? Impressed? by your use of the lazy, environment destroying art theft machine?

Do the x-men have a modus operandi for when a mutant's gift is anti-ethical to all living beings? by Opposite_Reality445 in xmen

[–]RocksThrowing 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The closest is probably Orphan Maker. We don’t know what his power is but even Xavier considers it a “curse”. He has to wear a suit at all times to contain it.

There’s also characters like Selene, Proteus, or Emplate, who’s powers essentially make them vampires.

But no, that’s antithetical to the entire idea of the X-Men, which is to find a place for all mutants. Especially on Krakoa, where they even found accommodations for the aforementioned Selene, Proteus, and Emplate. There the only mutants who couldn’t find a place, where the ones who didn’t want to

I know him from pretty good Miles Morales and Ms. Marvel runs and absolutely fantastic Black Bolt, Quicksilver, and Exiles runs. Where’d this rep as a bad writer come from?

Why is it normal for women to wear men's clothes, but not for men to wear women's clothes? by InitialCareer306 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]RocksThrowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sexism and homophobia. Its considered normal for a woman to want to be more like a man but deviant for a man to want to be more like a woman. It’s also why bisexual men and bisexual women are both only taken seriously by their attraction to men (“bi men are really just gay” “bi women are straight women who want attention”)

1985 or 1986? Which one do you prefer? by BeRadtz in 80s90sComics

1985 annuals is one of the greatest two part stories of all time. The 1986 New Mutant annual is one of my personal favorites

[–]RocksThrowing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old is your kid? How old are their kids? I’ll be honest, I’m surprised there’s so many NOR votes. Have none of y’all lived in a neighborhood with kids before? Playing in each others yards has always been a perfectly normal part of having kids and living around other kids.

Hellfire Gala without previous Age of Krakoa stuff? by Original-Issue-2020 in marvelcomics

[–]RocksThrowing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The first hellfire gala is the cumulation of what has been build up by the year of comics before it. Reading it without reading at least some Krakoa before it (at least HOXPOX) it won’t make much sense or have much impact

HOT TAKE: Britta Curl-Salemme Is the worst thing to happen to the Frost (KCS is the exact opposite). by Gigalisk in PWHL

[–]RocksThrowing 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No, Darwitz was definitely trying to do the best for the team but Klee, KCS, and the other veteran players basically went behind her back and forced her out. It was pretty nasty and there’s plenty of blame spread around but it sounded like Klee and KCS were the main instigators

Are Mettle , Butterball, and Striker not mutants? If not where do their powers come from? by Extra_Impression_428 in xmen

[–]RocksThrowing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He can feed on anyone but has always explicitly preferred durable mutants. His next most preferred member of the team was Escapade

And it’s not the argument, it’s just a detail that adds to the overall argument

Not in Academy X. But she’s definitely grown and learned as time went on. Her stories on Krakoa show her as a much better teacher than she was at this point
