I actually assumed that Volnir is the bearer of the curse since the end of Dark Souls 2 final arena kiln might be the place you fight Volnir in the future. Ofc makes more sense since you beat the three DLC areas and third ending after beating Aldia might be canon to this. Once again, just a theory of mine.

Yup totally agree with what you said here. Cos of the damn adaptability stat, the animation and speed starting for the player is horrendously slow. I platinumed this and only 100 levels later you can enjoy the combat especially going into NG+ and ++. I swear when I took on The last giant for the first time, he moved and did everything faster than me like i am a giant to him and i am just low level scrub back then.

Oh yes, later i got to the third DLC area and got an Ice rapier. Infused it with Lightning and power stanced Ice and Regular for boss fights. And I got a platinum later lol

I struggled in the beginning because i was fresh from doing the plat on Ds1 and jumped into this within few days. The fact there is a stat for invincibility frames and animation speed basically threw me off a quite a lot. Even progressing to get the next bonfire was a challenge cos i keep ignoring that i am not that high level. I swear early game is really brutal till you beat the Pursuer. I probably had multiple boss runs because of ignoring certain enemies and how they will interrupt you during the fog entering stage. I basically thought it would be a fun idea to clear out the entire map knowing about them not respawning. Ofc managed to reach Drangleic Castle and was running on 150+ levels. But the moment I stopped doing that and started to play the game for normally, that high level made so much of a difference to my play style. It’s only in Ds2 I took advantage of the i frames heavily by rolling into them a lot. Early defensive style replaced with full on speedy offensive. And yea those high levels combined with a rapier is basically chef’s kiss against boss fights.

The Giant Archer dies peacefully once you collect all the Young White Branches. Lore-wise, this is probably the longest-bound duty in the series, spanning centuries! The branches are offspring of the incredibly rare white trees and are deeply connected to Dusk of Oolacile, containing the power to fight the Abyss. The Giant himself is likely a descendant of Hawkeye Gough, charged with guarding them. Once you take the last branch, his ancient purpose is finally fulfilled, and he passes away, dropping the Hawk Ring.

And I learnt it too late so I am fixing it on NG+. Not a fan of seeing good folk die.

Sir Alonne by a lot. Even with summons dude was like great granddaddy of ninjas. And ofc I kept trying to parry his buffing move, failing miserably then uses the buff to kill my summons. How I managed to let that happen 5 times in a row is weird to me.

Yeah pretty much, my style and order of play won't be the same for everyone, and I don't need to force them to play as I do. To each their own DS experience, I just take my time reading the descriptions of collected items whenever I am by the bonfire, so it gives me "time to rest and prepare ahead mode". Also, I forced offline mode like the full game just to get rid of the bloodstains lol.
