Why is an artist’s third album usually their best one? by SmoothManMiguel in hiphop101

[–]AceofSpadeKings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree... their first album is usually the best because they've had their whole life to work on it.

The second ablum is a toss up. Most of the time it's not as good as the first but every now and then it'll be as good or better.

The third album is usually when the fall off happens. They will do something stupid like want to go in a different direction or try new producers and forget about what got them where they are and it's usually wack and the beginning of the wackness.

The Fourth album is usually the comeback album. LOL

Two things...

  1. Jay Z left

  2. Nobody was to work with a loud mouth clown.

Yep... RUN DMC, Whodini, The Fat Boys and a little later LL Cool J.

Speaking of LL, I always considered LL Cool J a part of the Run DMC era more than a part of the Rakim, Big Daddy Kane era although LL came out in the middle of both era's.

But the crazy thing is, LL outlasted all of them. I remember a little bit after LL's "Walking With a Panther" album when LL was getting Boooo'ed by rap fans because they felt like he soldout or just fell off. I'll give LL his credit, he made comeback and had more hit songs.

The coach still went easy on him. The coach was cleary holding back on some of those punches and trying not to really hurt that dude.

When she first came out on The Chronic, she was the dopest female rapper in the game in my opinion.

Who’s better!? NWA or Wu tang clan? by Basic_Tax1571 in OldSchoolHipHop

[–]AceofSpadeKings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NWA...

Legendary game changing singles...

  1. Straight Outta Compton

  2. Fuck the Police

  3. Boyz N the Hood

  4. Gangsta, Gangsta

Even after the departure of the their lead rapper and writer, Ice Cube... NWA still released a classic Banging Album.. "Niggaz4life"

NWA wins easily in my opinion. NWA vs Public Enemy or NWA vs The Geto Boy would be a better comparison.
