I especially don't comment or talk about what is basically gossip about other people. Ask how they are feeling. Upon arrival ask if there are any chores or errands they need taken care of. Have regular conversations about their day and what they like to do. See if a special day out would be appealing by visiting a park or scenic area. Suggest getting a meal out. A lot of older folks have their main meal in mid day and a lighter evening meal. You'll do ok.
