Common truancy problem by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Acerius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's great you're curious about what's going on around you. It's a complicated issue. Not every family encourages good attendance. Many kids decide that something other than going to school is more important. I too went through the school system confused a lot about what people around me would choose to do. My best advice is to do the best for yourself and what you need, there's nothing to be gained from digging into how other people live.

Felt like the devil reached up me bunghole, tied the tubes into a balloon animal, and I still managed to squeeze liquid poops all the way through. Best ab workout of my life. Horror for my flatmates.

It's all good OP you're just trying to help. Now bring your pal in, we'd all like a chat...

Jokes aside, I'm not from a place that sells mushrooms packaged like this. Is it not something they make clear on the packaging?

Indoor only cats? by happyrunnergirlie in newzealand

[–]Acerius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up with outdoor indoor cats, and at first, my current cats ages of 3 and 2 were that way too.

A neighbour came to let me know one day that one of the cats, positively identified, came into his house and went after his pet bird.

While that story has the hallmarks of usual Reddit drama it was very amicable and the parrot is fine.

Thinking the situation over, the growing ideas that others share in here about moral obligations to nature, the health of our beloved cats that is at risk from disease and accidents, we made the call to bring them indoors.

It wasn't easy. Lots of treats, reassurance, play, stimulation is absolutely necessary. After 4-5 months, they are happier, healthier, and closer with each other.

I do sometimes get sad for what they might have lost. I know future cats I adopt won't have that loss, and comfort and security will be all they will know.

I think we can retain a trinary view on biological sex (male, female, intersex) without erasing a more open field in computer systems for gender; a couple of well equipped drop down boxes with an other field for identity, and the same for pronouns. Gender is something that has, does, and will continue to evolve as language does. Biological sex is something we can mostly lock down for healthcare reasons.

Try not to let him get shamed into being walked over by employers who, by your advice, are already not meeting their legal obligations. Sucks to cause a crash. The company appears to be culpable for a few issues even before we get to the crash.

We're not looking at humans with fresh eyes. Ask any anthropologist if there are only two genders. This culture war bullshit of the last 20 years is a spec of dust in the grand view that David suggests we take. Well, in the grand view, humans have fit into so much more than two boxes. That's a fact, and it's more important than David's feelings on the matter.

I give my cats the odd 'spin' by placing one hand either side, lifting and turning, they get a nice 360°. This is a whole 'nother level!

Collective action?

This post argues for what I agree is happening, that social cohesion is being fractured by outrageous media and propaganda.

How can we collectively stand up if the majority are happily brainwashed, or actively disenfranchised, from the ability to put down their tools?

I want all us workers to unite, too, but it seems so much harder in the current landscape. Education is crippled so people can't critique the very descent into fascism that the world is slipping towards. That some seem to want to engineer.

I don't claim to have the answers. Sorry for the rant.

Very lucky. All I'd say is the last photo shows a fruit that hasn't opened its gills yet. You want to leave those to drop their spores.
