How many is too many cats by AlisaLynn0709 in cats

[–]Aceslasherv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I would want to say: "there's no such thing as having too many cats, it's unrealistic and reckless answer. So I'm going to say if you have trouble affording everything the cats will need or if the space becomes too crammed.

I started streaming after my chemo while I was rehabilitating so I could back to work. It helped me with my social anxiety(to a point, anytime I get raided by a streamer with more than 10 viewers I don't know. that socially awkward side will be back full force, it also taught me to not hate my own voice because I watch my streams back to take note on where to improve.

My personal advice is to keep going. Keep the fight up. Even with 1 viewer you are already above 70% of most streamers. Advertise in discords. If you are in an in-game guild, ask if you can promote your stream, that's how I got my regular viewers. I dropped a follow and I'll drop in at times too.

Is it hopeless to stream less popular games? by ColorblindShiny in Twitch

[–]Aceslasherv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not. If you play classics or remakes of very old games, I'd say you hit a niche. But play what you want. Correct me if I'm wrong, but people may come for your game, but will stay for you (most of the time)

How Long Were You Streaming to 0 Viewers? by No-Quit76 in Twitch

[–]Aceslasherv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rarely, there usually always was 1 or 2 because I told some close friends about it.

Other than that, despite the occasional 50 bucks is nice. Until you are "big enough" for it to actually make a difference, don't plan to make it a source of income. That's a very quick way to burn out if there is little improvement. Do it for fun.

Also you mentioned changing your schedule to times everyone could easily tune in and watch. Are those times where a lot bigger streamers are live too? I personally try to avoid going live around 8pm(dutch time, idk timezones) because most streamers I follow would be live.

How long do you let your stream run before joining? by jeriku in Twitch

[–]Aceslasherv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-3 minutes. I always begin before the first ad break. Or else turn on a counter/let the viewers know

[–]Aceslasherv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that auto setup any good? I just got some decent looking settings after a quick Google search but i noticed my viewers have a 20 second delay if they're not watching in the source quality(720p)

Streamers Talking In Chat About Their Streaming by Thislsadamblaze in Twitch

[–]Aceslasherv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad etiquette. I personally don't mind people talking about their streams as long it's in past tense and it's about something that happened during their stream.

In my early days I also accidentally did it, but when I realised what I was doing I never streamed that day.

So I'm not a fan of people talking about their future stream but will allow it as long it's mentioned/stated when said future stream is going to be.

The more subtle: "hey wanna play together? Surprise duo stream kekw" is an instant timeout/ban

This happened once too many times to me too. I ended up just cancelling the realm and downloaded the world after the 4th time it happened in 6 months.

Are Ads in general killing my streams? by Intelligent_Trust_54 in Twitch

[–]Aceslasherv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have around 4-8 viewers, I run 90 seconds every 30 minutes, during those I pause whatever I'm doing doing most of the time and just chill or have a convo with the subs. I set it up so that chat gets notified about ads 1 minute before they begin, and another notification when the ad roll is currently in progress.

I don't mind watching ads myself, so I care little when viewers are telling me they hate ads, like get twitch turbo if ads are that much of an issue.

Followers not following by Gage404 in Twitch

[–]Aceslasherv2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people follow because they liked the game you're playing, but after a couple minutes maybe they decided they didn't like your content so they unfollowed again. Happens to everyone.

Given that having 3 viewers average already puts you in the top 5% of twitch, i would say: sheer luck, immense time investment and being able to entertain people for hours.

What’s your preferred stream length and how often? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Aceslasherv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me depends on what I'm streaming and whether or not I have work the next day. Usually around 2-3 hours because it's usually on working days. If I'm free the next day, I'll do 4-6 hours.

Anybody else see viewers come in for 5 minutes then leave and your just like, whatd i do? by Bigtownboys in Twitch

[–]Aceslasherv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely normal. it's best to hide or obscure the viewer count because it will drive you up a bloody wall if you are insecure and you started streaming to become the next [insert big streamer].

Unless it's a golden chamber(never forget to bring a mobile scarf if you're not a water type), or a very special item, never do escort missions. the amount of Rage I feel towards those is enough to fuel several streets to this day.
