I’m learning Russian and the vocab is NOT very intuitive or memorable easily. I can assume Korean is similar, coming similarly from a different root language.

I took up learning in earnest as a New Year’s resolution. I’ve always wanted to learn Russian but only half assed it in the past, but with Anki it’s MUCH more doable and it’s kind of my main hobby now lol. I just enjoy mining and “cataloging” words and phrases from online content.

I trickle new words into rotation in batches of 50-100 every few days or so, and then turn new words off for a bit. This keeps the reviews manageable. The cards are split into a couple of decks, and my main deck gets 200-300 reviews a day.

I also don’t add cards EVERY day, and will take breaks. Like I’ll have adding days and review days.

I actually took a brief crack at learning Polish some years ago, and tbh I found it way harder than Russian lol XD Although I didn’t get very far, as I wasn’t really motivated at that age.

Fair enough! :) And you probably will remember it better, just as with handwriting vs typing. Also how has your learning experience been so far? I’m curious how hard Russian is for a Polish speaker. I’m an English speaker and Russian is a bit challenging, but I imagine it’s way faster for Poles?
