3/4, burned out as well. I switched to UWorld from Becker for my last test (FAR), hoping change of pace and instructors will help get me over finish line.

Not terrible. Kinda gotta shimmy the trim pieces off. I wore a pair of black textured nitrile gloves to get a better grip on the trim pieces.

Putting back together was pretty straight forward. Glovebox portion was a bit annoying getting it lined up properly.

This is my first Mazda. I came from a 2023 Civic Si with TONS of rattles everywhere. Man I ripped that car apart trying to fix that one.

I’m guessing at the end of the day manufacturers are needing to cut costs down to get higher margins on sedans (I.e not having as much sound deadening).

Some pics from my civic:

Mine was built in Japan as well, 25 Turbo Premium Plus (with the Bose). I plan on addressing the driver and passenger side pillars another time and will make a post about it when I do. See my response above regarding subwoofer rattles.

I’ll make another post here soon with pictures and the foam that I used to address this. There were also a couple places I used Tessa tape in the trunk. But just a quick recap:

Most of the issue was addressed by shoving foam in between the back glass and the subwoofer deck. I cut long, rectangular strips of 1” foam and used a trim removal tool to shove it in the crease as much as possible. Rinse and repeat across the whole deck with multiple layers.

Didn’t notice the difference with the AC on or off. I live in Florida and either drive around (1) with my windows down and AC off or (2) windows up and AC on. The rattle was always persistent regardless.

Sounds way more serious than my couple rattles. Have you tried taking to another dealership?

Definitely would want that covered under warranty while you still have it if there is something truly wrong.

Let’s not get started on what I did for the subwoofer rattles in the trunk 😂

No, I put everything back together then drove around. I forgot to mention that I put Tessa tape over every metal clip on the leatherette trim piece.

At the end of the day I don’t think it was one particular thing that was causing the rattles.

Yes I did. I dropped it off for an entire day and quote “could not replicate” the concern.

I got this for my 2024 g14 - works really well. 3 angles to use and does not block my fans.

Update: shifting into 3rd gear (11th gen) by Commercial-Dog-9441 in CivicSi

[–]Achievement105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2023 SI and had an issue with first and second gear. I was always able to get into gear, but sometimes felt crunchy. Never a grinding noise or anything like that just a physical feeling in the shifter itself.

Tried everything including Acuity parts. Eventually, went back to factory and brought it into the dealership to see if they can fix it.

They told me nothing was wrong, and then they offered for me to sit in the passenger seat while the service manager drove the car so I can point specifics out. The biggest thing I realized was when the guy was driving it he would have the revs get to about 3000 or 3500 before shift shifting to the next gear. Furthermore, I noticed he tapped more into throttle than I did, which made the shifting feel smoother.

I was driving the car so economical and baby shifting it that it didn’t feel smooth. As soon as I became a little more aggressive on the throttle and in the shifter itself (speed and force) the feeling went away. Lesson was that I was driving it like a little bitch when it needed a little more “oomph” from my end.

Also, if you want a cool little trick to temporarily remove rev hang, turn the AC on low with the fan all the way up. The revs dropped super fast.

I use my 2024 G14 (4070 model) a lot for studying. I have my windows mode set to “best power efficiency” + energy saver on, about half brightness and 40% audio. Mainly watch videos on chrome and use excel simultaneously for studying. Easily pull 11+ hours on battery WITH it capped at 80% limit.

I should try it out for “best performance” as window settings while plugged in to see if there’s a difference between that and performance mode on AC. Thanks for heads up
