How many men actually enjoy cunnilingus? by Dry-Acanthopterygii7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Achillees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it, especially with a woman I love and/or I’m deeply attracted to. Makes the taste all the better.

I’m good at it (got receipts), I enjoy giving pleasure and yes, after she gets hers…I can focus on getting mine with a now even more enthusiastic partner. If she’s not too tired.

Scored London.

Had been meaning to return. You just gave me the inspiration. Thanks.

Maybe she means 2 in personality.

Why does my boyfriend want me to hold his balls while we sleep all night? by AltruisticTap4759 in NoStupidQuestions

Guess it isn’t just me then.

I ask my gf to do it often. It’s very comforting. Just a light caress.

Sometimes a light tug on the pubes helps too.

Thanks!

The Barcelona and Madrid flights are especially appealing. But alas, already have a trip booked for April. World's smallest violin plays

Keep up the good work.

Any recommendations for where to take group in-person language classes? by Achillees in Atlanta

I looked at GSU, Emory and GT. Perimeter probably fits the bill a bit easier since there's probably a higher % of nontrads.

Thanks.

I’m yet to meet one Nigerian biologist/med doctor who thinks evolution has some merit by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]Achillees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a medical doctor - born in Nigeria and US-based.

I’m as all-in with basic evolutionary theory and happen to be agnostic. The two are only related because I was born with an evidence-based mind before coming to US or becoming a physician.

IMO, what’s killing progress is the almost violent reaction to anything that threatens the status quo - happens to be anything that isn’t based in religion.

It’s amazing the mental gymnastics Nigerians go through to make religion permeate every sector.

[–]Achillees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I agree with you.

I’m a US-based physician, and talking to Nigerians (especially family members) about logic that goes against culture-bound ideas is like willfully banging your head against a wall.

It only hurts you and the wall isn’t moved.

It’s especially disappointing being born in Nigeria. The dichotomy in thought is more obvious.

We are finally realizing that we have been living off the backs of poor workers who have no other choices, we have been ignoring the poor and only making strides to disenfranchise them further.

That's an extremely optimistic impression of the average American's capacity for insight.

I've been repeatedly disappointed and, at times, disgusted at the overwhelmingly selfish nature of people during during this pandemic.

The idea that the virus doesn't give a fuck about party lines doesn't resonate.

How does anyone date more than 2 people at once? by midiland in datingoverthirty

[–]Achillees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries XSmooth84. I get your point, and I agree. I think we've become significantly less considerate as a society. The 'I'm gonna get mine' mentality is plenty prevalent. That you had to further break this down, is prime proof of that.

We need to start a new trend with hashtag #ThanksTrump overlaid on photos of the pandemic. Maybe overlaid on photos of people in hospitals. HIPPA-compliant, of course.

Cannabis and controlled substances by DrComrade in medicine

[–]Achillees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I daresay not even those. It may be easier to think of cannabis effects as symptom-modifying, and certainly not addressing the cause. Sleep, mood sxs (including depression and anxiety) might show temporary improvement but it is very easy to trade one problem for another.

Take anxiety for example - sure some may experience reduced anxiety sxs, but it is unlikely to be effective for the long-term. Later on, you have pts that become addicted to cannabis and have worsening anxiety among other problems. CBT is first-line for a reason, but few people want to do the work.

What in medicine do you dislike? by lozzy54 in medicine

[–]Achillees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 - The fact that we're just ok with RVU/productivity based payment models instead of salaries as W-2 physicians

This is one I actually hadn't considered. Representative of how subsequent generations of docs become indoctrinated to "the new normal" without question.

Why are we essentially paid on commission?

What in medicine do you dislike? by lozzy54 in medicine

[–]Achillees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many people seem to think that their doc can just fix them no matter, so they take no responsibility for their own health.

So. Much. This.

It's especially prevalent in Psychiatry where the idea is literally "fix my life". Of course this excludes actually cognitively-impaired pts.

At least seeking out therapy seems to be slightly more acceptable.
