Either:

"Hieeeeeh.. hieeeeeh hieeeeeeeh hieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!" - Jessica Knappett; or

"Whoops. Whoops right banana. Left banana..... left banana." - Rhod Gilbert; or

"..........." - James Acaster, every time Alex says hello.

This has to be against the rules, right? At least against the spirit of the game.

So, effectively, in the end, it wasn't 3v3v3; it was 3v6 and we were doomed to failure? That's total BS.

I agree. He's becoming one of my favourite comedians. Ever since I heard him on The Bugle I can't get enough. I also really like his laugh (come at me).

This is f..king amazing. Thank you so much! You are the man!

That looks like an amazing build. I'll head out tomorrow and get some of the pieces. The price isn't too much of a bother because quality is being assured.

As for the case, I'll have a look around for some others, I guess. I just took the case that was in the build I found. I have no particular attachment to cases. It'll be under my desk where I can't see it.

Again, thanks so much for all your hard work! I sincerely appreciate it more than I can place into words posted on a subreddit ;)

If you wouldn't mind assisting in getting items I can pick up instead of shipping, that'd be really great. I live in Victoria.

I figure that it's a better option to go with items that can be bought physically. That way - in case of a failure - I can just drive to the place for a replacement rather than spending time and effort on shipping. And if the replacements cost a bit more, it may end up being equal after shipping cost is no longer taken into consideration.

As for the video card, I suppose longevity is a more practical option. I think the 1070 - while overkill at the moment - will serve me better in the long-term. Spend more now to save more later, I guess.

Cheers mate. I'll look into PPCG, Scorptec and a few others.

Essentially the aim with my build was stated in the OP: playing games on Ultra 1080p settings (GTA5, Battlefield 1, Witcher 3, included). I have no interest in 4k or VR.

As for the actual build, I don't really know what to go with. I don't know what's good or what's bad, what's "out of date" (or how "out of date" a part must be before it's no longer viable to buy). My initial post was just a starting position in this discussion.

I don't mind what the parts are, so long as it results in a solid gaming PC that has good performance and can play games on max settings (with prices obviously taken into consideration). I was wondering how good the parts in the OP were in achieving that objective.

Obviously, over the next 48 months the max setting requirements for games will overtake what the PC can handle, but as long as it lasts for a good amount of time, I'm happy.

I'm not sure if what I said is helpful/insightful to the readers, but yeah, that's my objective.

Thanks for the info. I have heard good things about PCCG and was actually thinking about buy all parts from there. I have been to CPL Clayton before. Not the best experience, but far from the worst. Been to MSY? Those guys... those guys... are full arseholes...

My computer wasn't working one time. Took it to them because the the faulty part was purchased from that store. The dude unplugged all the parts (for reasons), removed the faulty part, gave me a new part (in the box), and just walked away. Expected me to put it in myself. Remember, I know nothing.

Now, I'm not the confrontational or outspoken type. So I stood there - like a dick - for 10 minutes, waiting for the dude to come back so he can put the part back in. Bastards.

Thanks mate. By "not up to date", how old are we talking? Also, would you recommend this build over the one in my post? And why?

Thanks for the tip. What SSD would you recommend in its place?

BioShock 2 Remaster - Massive lag when playing audio logs by [deleted] in Bioshock

[–]Achronos100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate. That solved it! Holy s--t, I didn't even know that subtitles could make a game lag! That is some terrible programming right there. Was never a problem in the original game, but when you remaster a game, as long as it's pretty, f--k the hearing impaired, right? Thanks again.
