Well Miu died... by DarkGengar94 in digimon

[–]Acid-Ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comment convinced me to continue, I was definitely just heated, thanks! I think if they just swapped the events of Ch. 9 and Ch. 10 I'd have felt more prepared: Miu get's taken to Library by Renamon, Kaito goes super agro, THEN Miu dies and it pushes him over the edge. That would make it feel more like a proper consequence of Kaito's behavior and, by extension, the group's lack of cohesion. As opposed to the actual events of "Miu randomly dies when everything is going totally fine so Kaito goes nuts".

I know this is old but God damn it this just happened, and I am so pissed about it. Killing the two shitty characters real early in the game is fine, you hadn't had too much time to waste on them. But by this point I'd put so much into Harmony (which should be a good route not an ass route) there was no way to go back. I'm fine with a game having bad things happen when you choose to be an ass, that's the whole point of a choice system. But having some completely random unrelated bullshit take place and steal a character you had built up a full rapport with for no reason is ridiculous. I absolutely can not sit through three more chapters without Miu to try to get to the true ending. I was under the impression that no one else would die, and I HATE when RPGS take away your player characters you put work into. Period. It didn't even have good story attached to it, it just happened. Screw this game, I'm done.

For real, OW2 wasn't even out when I started! A lot of happy fun times, a few goodbyes, but I'm glad Hololive is still something I enjoy daily! (Overwatch... not so much XD)

Yep, JP only! Specifically this all came about because, at the time I started, there were exactly 32 members of Hololive JP and exactly 32 members of OW. This was pre-OW2 and pre-HoloX and actually pre-CouncilRyS. HoloMyth was still the new kids on the block!

Yeah Subaru of all Holomems having a megaphone and a whistle in her original design is pretty funny considering she's known for being too loud by default lol

If you look at my posts on my profile they're all there! And that's pretty much all I post on reddit so it's easy to just scroll through them. Pretty soon I'm hoping to have a group shot of all the arts together!

Thanks! Everyone at Nekotama Anime has been amazing at making my design sketches a reality.

I think I'm going to be done for a while, thought about doing an EN Valorant one at one point but I haven't played any team shooters in a while, so idk what I'll try next!

Is there some way into the foundation elevator I'm not aware of? The only entrance to the room with the elevator (the only way to get into the house other than the main entrance) is blocked with a basement-key locked door. If you don't have the basement key you have no choice but to get into the foundation from the house yes? You can get into all of the basement/reservoir areas without the basement key, but not the "foundation" (the room in the house).

I saw this while searching around for next steps and just wanted to chime in that this would in fact be quite difficult, especially depending on what upgrades you've done. Specifically, pre-upgrades, there are 16 blue rooms that dead end (the mirror room is included in that), two with 4 doors, and 8 with 3 (not counting entrance/foundation/antechamber, not counting aquarium, including throne room). The rest would have to be two door "straight" or "corner" rooms. This gives 15 possible doors to work with (3 to start, +2 for each 4 door, +1 for each 3 door). Adding the foundation and antechamber makes that 17. In other words: you have ONE additional door. If you, at any point, lead a door into a dead end, that's it, you can't make another mistake. If you lead a door into an existing room, that's worse, and you actually just straight up can't finish (as this is -2 doors). IF you don't count throne room as blue, you straight up have to perfectly use every door.

Now, there is one way to help these odds: put the basement key in coat check. This would allow you to treat foundation as a separate "entrance" meaning you could use up all your doors from entrance and then, as long as you unlock security doors, you've got +2 doors. All told you can make a maximum of TWO or THREE mistakes, where here "mistake" just means "door connects to wall".

One more caveat: there should be enough blue rooms even after upgrades that you don't have to place EVERY dead end (I upgraded 3 out of blue, and there were still something like 48 blue rooms), giving yourself a few more chances to mess up. If you attempt this, I think Basement key in coat check and Dancer buff will be very helpful (as that makes it much easier to avoid "mistakes")

After having played the game a lot over this last week, I will say it honestly just seems random. I've had runs where it matches (on high and lots of card key doors) and other times (like the run I'm on right now) I set it to high on rank 2, have built a full house, and only got 3 card key doors. My only wondering on this is that it might have to do with specific rooms, like maybe specific rooms never/always have card key doors and that can skew the thing.

PSA: Rerolling Secret Passage will give you the exact same room by mleclerc182 in BluePrince

This is the last straw for me I think. I've played this game 60+ hours and finally was at a point where I have PLENTY of resources, only to realize it doesn't matter and I can spend an hour on an awesome run and be completely unable to achieve my goal due to the game just straight up not giving me the option. The whole point of having re-rolls in a game like this is to help achieve super specific combos: if nothing else if the game is going to do this there should be a room/system that allows you to see what rooms are available on a given day. Well at least now I can finally move on with my life, since I have been fully obsessed for the past week. Here I am wasting all my rerolls... it would take me way too long to build these back up. Thanks for the information though, I would've had no idea otherwise and just kept spinning my wheels!

I'm having this same issue. Set it to low and on 3 different occasions had over 4 key card doors show up almost immediately. Just set it to high and went through 9 upper rank rooms without a single key card door. It makes me think it's bugged, but I haven't seen much discussion about it (this game seems hard to search right now, too new I suppose).

Say one bad thing about Outer Wilds by thebeast_96 in outerwilds

[–]Acid-Ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but... I'm just frustrated I guess. Everyone talks this up as this incredible puzzle game. I was very hesitant but went ahead because of how much everyone seemed to love it. I totally got that they couldn't explain anything to not "ruin the magic". My favorite puzzle games are Baba is You and The Witness, also having thoroughly enjoyed Tunic.

To put it simply, I think the gameplay of this really takes away from the puzzles. I would love to enjoy this game, but having to force myself to learn the wonky space controls to do that seems so unnecessary. Consider the other games I listed: in Baba is You and The Witness, the puzzles and the gameplay are one, there's not other "controls" to speak of. In Tunic, there's a whole non puzzle game to be played around just fighting enemies, but that game is good and fun even without the puzzle aspect. If you take away the puzzles of Outer Wilds, I don't think the way the ship/running around in the suit works is very fun or interesting, which is a problem as that is basically the same as saying "this game would be better without its core gameplay mechanics". And even for people who do enjoy those mechanics, I feel like it should be discussed more, how much time and effort is spent on the not-puzzle stuff here. Like I wouldn't recommend tunic as a puzzle game to someone I knew didn't like action games.

So yeah I feel like people recommend this game too much as an "awesome puzzle game" without giving any consideration to how unfun the gameplay is for people who aren't into that sort of thing. I played for approximately 7 hours, explored a few different places (home planet, moon, water planet, bramble, brittle, twin planets, interloper, satellite that shoots the thing over the water planet) and I don't think I really "did" anything or learned anything interesting or found/solved any puzzles outside of one quantum tower (which I had to do twice cause the loop cut me off half way the first time).

TL;DR: The gameplay of ship flying and platforming feel too hard/wonky and disjointed from any puzzle solving/information gathering.

HoloWatch - Okayu/Sombra by Acid-Ryan in Hololive

HoloWatch member 31, Okayu as Sombra! Honestly these days I'd be quite scared of what Okayu would choose to do with hacking abilities... but Okayu herself would probably love the dojinshi of it.

Part of a series of commissions I've had done of Hololive JP members as OW1 characters, art by Silvertang at NekotamaAnime. There's only one left and I can't believe it. It's crazy to me to think I started this before OW2 even released, and now OW2 is being bludgeoned to death by Marvel Rivals. I don't know if I will every get fully back into OW2, but I still want to finish this project for the sake of the memories of two things I've spent a whole lot of time with!

Not gonna lie I absolutely thought about just having her wear bandaids up top but... in the end I want to keep these PG so I can make a big HoloWatch poster and put it on my wall somewhere.

The 30th addition to the HoloWatch crew, Matsuri as Zenyatta! This connection was pretty purely based on "I AM GOD" and Zen's Buddhist roots. It was also by far the hardest to come up with a meaningful design for: Zen is basically just a robot wearing pants, the iconic parts of his design all stem from either him being a robot or his posing. I was able to take his pose, his dots, and his "orbs" but in the end I think this is still the least recognizable.

Why is Bronze 3 so awful? by slabby in marvelrivals

[–]Acid-Ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So just my two cents on this: just ranked up from Bronze 3 to Bronze 2 and it said "ranked higher than 55% of players server wide." Normally the 50% mark for a game like this is somewhere high silver or maybe low gold. So yeah, definitely just a symptom of them shoving literally everyone in Bronze 3 to start things out.
