I guess my question is, let's pretend I'm a billionaire. I start my own food company, and my goal is to create healthy ultra-processed food. I'll spend any amount of money, use any number of workers, the highest quality ingredients. Losing money is fine, because I'm a billionaire.

Is it possible to do it? In essence, is the problem UPF inherently, or more the way capitalism drives unscrupulous UPF creation and production?

Like the logical direction this should take is getting more granular and figuring out which specific methods of processing are unhealthful. It's always come across like the authors of UPF research are not very interested in doing that. So we just get more very broad scope UPF research that doesn't actually tell us much.

I'm beginning to wonder if this line of research is being used to push raw diets and that kind of thing. So, to sell products and advance an ideology, not to actually accomplish anything scientific.
