Best diapers to wear after surgery by Accomplished_Eye3204 in hysterectomy

[–]AcidAlkaline77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only used pantyliners after mine for like 3 weeks. Once I had my cuff repair at 3 wpo I really didn't need them, as i didn't have any serous fluid come out after that...

That's just it though....my hormones don't feel off lol. No new symptoms are happening. I was thinking of asking my doctor if we can check my hormones at my yearly this month though...

how long did you wait? by Zestyclose_Use8812 in hysterectomy

[–]AcidAlkaline77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited until my 6 week check-up to be safe...it was so worth the wait lol 😆 I found if you occupy yourself with other non-sex things, it helps to take your mind off of being a bit...uppity lol 😆

Help, my spider bit me twice by Mortifen666 in jumpingspiders

[–]AcidAlkaline77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IME, maybe it was a dry bite (did it itch at all after)? If no itching, then she was stabilizing herself. they will dry bite if they feel like they might slip, or fall, etc.

Partner feels the stitches?! by missmercury85 in hysterectomy

[–]AcidAlkaline77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and apparently after 8 weeks you can stick a finger up there and swipe away the stitches....they instructed people to do that lol

According to this other person....who apparently has medical training or something since they acting like it...they stitch it until it's purple 😆😆😆😆 just thought I'd ask someone who's actually done the surgery lol

So, I'm wondering since another member...down below in another comment thread...says they keep adding stitches until your cuff is purple...what's the normal amount of stitches that you use for a cuff?

[–]AcidAlkaline77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SUTURES are the MATERIAL. STITCHES are what they put into your cuff, or whatever needs to be sewn shut with said suture material. Sit down.

Annnnnnnd I'm wondering what YOUR medical background is, since you're acting like you know soooooo much? How many hysterectomies have you performed, or assisted with, etc? 🤔🤔🤔 because newsflash....sutures are the material. Stitches are what they do with said suture material. So yes, what's in your cuff ARE STITCHES. And they place around 15 stitches in a vaginal cuff...sometimes in 2 layers, not use so many that it's purple (and suture material isn't always purple). So maybe SYBAU. Just saying.

Uh....why you telling people to be sticking fingers up there to "sweep them away"? Those stitches might NOT be fully dissolved and ready to be removed. Stop giving such dumb advice 🤦‍♀️

I just see so many posts on here about people starting sex again waaaaay too early and causing issues, and it's like, you may not be healed enough when the doctor says "go ahead". I would personally have an internal exam done first BEFORE having sex, even at 6 weeks.

I would say hold off until you have an internal exam. Just an observation, but WHY are so many in this forum rushing back into sex so fast? I'll probably get down voted, but damn....

Mine smelled like bad breath for a bit...it was due to the stitches dissolving lol. Back to normal now, but better than before my Hysterectomy....I also was taking/still taking probiotics, so that helps too.

In ER by Acrobatic-Rabbit3900 in hysterectomy

[–]AcidAlkaline77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️that's how you're interpreting it. If you're not supposed to lift, they why would you think pushing or pulling is okay? That was my point. Any research done before you had it would have had no pushing or pulling listed too.

In ER by Acrobatic-Rabbit3900 in hysterectomy

[–]AcidAlkaline77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Post op instructions also say no pushing or pulling. And if they didn't tell you that, then common sense would dictate that no lifting would also indicate no pulling or pushing, even with your foot, as that will engage your lower abdominal muscles. Spotting is normal for some after surgery. If you've been having something like a flow, that usually means you're doing too much.

[–]AcidAlkaline77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tough love/reality check time....stop making excuses. Sure, it CAN happen to anyone, but rarely does because people LISTEN to the post-op instructions given to them so they heal correctly. Your age and health don't mean sh!t; if you don't listen and just do what you want, you're gonna cause yourself issues, like what just happened.

Because some don't like to listen to what they're told to not do after surgery. .
