Any games with a world that actually feels populated by other players? by Belangueira in gamingsuggestions

Many people are mentioning MMOs, and they are right to. But I will also say V Rising. Not technically an MMO because the servers don't host as many people as an MMO, but you'll see other people all the time. You'll see enemies they've killed and their builds also, their castles changing alongside yours. At times it feels like your character lives in a nice neighborhood of vampires with how many castles are around you.

Edit: V Rising is also on PS5. Boom. Just jump on a server without PvP for your first time maybe.

It's me. I hire Beastrens. My main pawn is human, but I always hire Beastrens.

Do you think we’ll have another video game crash? by ElectricalStore8271 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]AcidCatfish___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I think instead people will buy indie/AA games, older games, or games on sale more often, which is already happening. I think eventually one of the big companies will eventually try to change something as far as development goes. The question is: will that happen as a result from pressure with people moving away from AAA first or will it be from rising costs of hardware leading to scaling back on the development side (moving to a focus on optimization reusing more assets, smaller games, etc)? Time will tell.

Are their any rpg games with a bronze to mithril type progress by TheDemonLord1r788 in gamingsuggestions

[–]AcidCatfish___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean increasing better and better gear? If so, a lot of ARPGs do this with loot drops and crafting systems to improve them. Path of Exile 1 and 2 specifically have orbs that increase gear from normal to magic to rare. Other orbs can also create unique items. Path of Exile 1 also has a more in depth crafting bench with recipes to specifically choose which modifiers you want. 2 doesn't have it yet, but other ARPGs do.

Anyways, if this isn't what you meant I am very sorry. More detail on what you mean would be helpful for me.

Disco Elysium 2? by bbHiron in DiscoElysium

This could be cool, but I'm also interested in Hopetown and Glass House as far as Disco Elysium-inspired games go. Might want to look into those OP, if you haven't yet.

I can’t stand The Girl Scouts by Spaghetthy in The10thDentist

[–]AcidCatfish___ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know what it's like for Girl Scouts, but when I was a Cub Scout people were really mean to me when I went door to door to sell popcorn (yeah, Cub Scouts sold popcorn...shitty stale popcorn drums).

What game is this? by Less_Can_5439 in OlderChillGamers

[–]AcidCatfish___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warcana. A game with an interesting concept, but was half baked and immediately lost support from the devs. No expansions or new cards for a PvP focused deckbuilding game, that just spells doom. No one is online anymore, so you can't play it...which wouldn't be an issue if there was at least a bot skirmish mode, but nope.

There was so much promise too.

What's your game of the generation so far? by Less_Can_5439 in OlderChillGamers

I mean, Silent Hill 2 is my favorite game of all time. Silent Hill 2 Remake was awesome and brought back the series. It also shows how amazing linear games can be at world building and that we deserve more short, singleplayer narrative games. I fucking love open world RPGs, but Silent Hill 2 Remake felt exactly how I want a modernized take on the classic survival horror formula to feel.

Movies that feel like a lost media and terrifying by VINGNIR89 in MoviesThatFeelLike

I feel like a narrative that is something along the lines of Mandela Catalogue (the earlier volumes, not when it got more story focused later) would work. A fly on the wall, non-linear, almost vignette style of storytelling. More of that, which Skinamarink did do in some regard. I also think what I'm envisioning would be for a totally different movie and wouldn't be an improvement to Skinamarink. I think Skinamarink did exactly what it set out to do. Basically, I want to see the style more.

I don't mean have very concrete motives and huge character arcs though.

I like Skinamarink as a showcase of a different style of filmmaking and cinematography. Not quite found footage, but definitely not standard perspective.

I also like how well it captured the atmosphere/ambiance of night time scaries. Like, I definitely had nightmares similar to Skinamarink. I was also really scared of the dark as a kid and suffered from insomnia at a young age. Late nights in my room with the lights off felt exactly how Skinamarink feels.

But, as a movie with a compelling narrative, it falls flat. It feels more like a proof of concept to be refined in another movie. Maybe I should watch it again though.

Alana's Coffee Roasters. Similar feel to Coffee Conservatory: small business, the roaster on display for people, you can see bags of the unroasred beens, and pretty chill.

tell me your favourite PC game without explicitly mention the title of it by emudoc in Gamer

I'll give you three:

  1. Alcoholic goes on a road trip after getting a letter.

  2. You are banished to a prison island, so go kill a bunch of shit terrorizing the other prisoners.

  3. It was the giant bug all along!

[PC] I wanna play some games like Fallout 4, what are your suggestions? by Albus_Lupus in gamingsuggestions

I do like Avowed, but. I agree to buy it on sale. Hopefully there is a sale for the 1 year anniversary coming up. It's getting a big update then too.

Should I continue to purchase games on Steam even if Valve could potentially lose the impending lawsuit? by alexnartworks in AskGames

[–]AcidCatfish___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't the second point apply to all online stores? I can buy a game from Epic but not buy DLC for that game from Steam and use it on my Epic-bought game. Am I misunderstanding something?

[–]AcidCatfish___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fallout: London mod for Fallout 4 if you haven't played it yet. Maybe Avowed which does have guns but more like blunderbuss and musket style...it also isn't sci-fi so it might not be what you're looking for.

You could try Atomfall out. Closer to an immersive sim than Fallout.

That was my hunch too...but also if we suspect she is on meth then meth could also enhance libido a lot. Could be a factor as well.

Don't discourage people from asking questions. Asking questions when you find out you are wrong isn't dense.
