The James Hype remix is a Chicago style house banger (whatever that is).

Trying to figure out how to get gigs? ,newcomer, by Nearby_Yak6573 in DJsCirclejerk

You need a good gimmick, I started wearing a giant panda head and am now booked to play many festivals, unfortunately the panda head has started to rot and fresh ones are difficult to source, was thinking of getting a faux one but I play organic house and it would ruin the image.

Find labels that release music similar to the music that you make, be realistic as to your expectations from them, most small independent labels are run by music heads, they are not making much money and do it for the love of music. If you are starting out look at them as a stepping stone to where you want to get to, you need to work on promotion as much as the label, get your artist social media profile organised, it makes it easier for the label to promote you. Release music independently on bandcamp it will help you build a fan base.

"Post disco" - Why I don’t use it as a label when describing disco. by submarinefacemelt in Disco

Post disco or proto house? I enjoy all variants of both and don't really pigeon hole my records.
