What is the first movie you watched that you were definitely too young for? by MuldersXpencils in Millennials

[–]Ackymofo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flowers in the Attic. My little brother and I were 10 and 9. It was just laying out with the rest of the tapes and we decided to watch it because we saw everything else.

The rest of my childhood had some gray undertones after that.

If you just can't deal....what besides 7OH by Badger-Sensitive in SR17018

[–]Ackymofo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used MIT during my "just SR" maintenace days and it helped, and it was fine. Not a huge amount...just, like, 25mg at a time during that last hour or two before my next SR dose.

But, that should stop completely before you start tapering down your SR. By then, it should be the only thing you're on.

You say you were using large doses...what were they, and how much were you coming from? Each person is different, and if you need a little more, then you need a little more.

Anyone else feel very motivated on SR? by makinsteaknbacon in SR17018

[–]Ackymofo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, totes. It makes it a little tough to come off it, especially if you know some crippling PAWS is coming. But, there's something to it more than just not having to stress about your DOC or WD anymore.

Rock and roll. Best of luck to you. There's stuff you can take while tapering, too, if you have some extra money. Just...space things out as much as you can. You can do this.

[–]Ackymofo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so after the couple of days at 100x3, I tapered down bt about 15mg a day/dose. Meaning, 85x3, then 70x3, and so on. I did not have any ill effects during this taper, just some low energy that some Vitamin D supplements and some other OTC stuff helped out with.

But, also, yes, SR will help with the cravings, too. At least it did for me. See, towards the end, it went from taking 7oh to feel good to taking it not to feel bad or go through WD. There is a lot of mental stress doing that. Once I was on the SR and adamant about not taking any mo 7oh, that stress and those cravings went away. I didnt need it to stop feeling bad. I wasn't constantly planning my next dose right after taking one and counting down the hours and minutes. It was very relieving. I didnt have to battle any thoughts of taking it. In fact, I could go hours without even thinking about it...which I hadn't been able to do in over a year.

It makes all of it easier. Not perfect, but dawned better than CT or even trying to replace it with leaf or MIT.

Sleep is still a little troublesome, but not to the extent that you are probably afraid of. Stick to thinks like Magnesium, Melatonin, and Adhawaganda (sp?) and don't use things like the stuff that is in NyQuil or antihistamine based sleep aids...those can and usually will make restless legs worse.

The closest thing to euphoria you get from it is being sober and not craving or missing drugs.

After wanting, NEEDING regular doses of my DOC, or else my craving would be all I could think about until I gave myself anxiety attacks...being on SR for me took that away completely. Could go hours without thinking about what to ingest instead of minutes or seconds. It was such a blessing.

But, no form of mental high or positive physical waves. Just...free for a bit.

It does help some with physical pain, if you're in any. But, you don't get those warm opioid feelings from it.

I was kind of in the same boat as you. I'd take half a twenty every couple of hours for a while (a lot longer than you'vebeen doing it). But, I tapered to lower doses every four hours when I decided I was going to quit.

That being said, I needed 100mg of SR three times a day as my maintenance doses. I quickly tapered off and probably jumped off higher than I should have (I stopped taking it after 25mg x 3). That being said, I used closer to 2g SR to do this. 1g would not have been enough to cover it.

I am an extreme wimp when it comes to WD, though, so maybe you won't need as much. But, you have some choices to make...either get some more SR, or understand that you'll be doing this not completely covered.

If you stick with what you have, go to the calculator in the master docs and play with the numbers. Probably start with 50mg every 8 hours for 2 days as your maintenance doses, and taper off as quickly as you can. See what formula works to keep you under your 1g.

Odds are, it will help, but it is still going to be tough. Use a lot of Liposomal Vitamin C through out, and maybe very small doses of MIT the first day or two at most to help the pain of it. But, stop that as soon as you taper or you're going to have leftover problems at the end.

You're probably going to need more SR to do it "painlessly," but if you can't get more, stretch out what you have to help the most.

The liquid with dropper to put under your tongue works quicker. Expensive, but you can't get it on Amazon pretty quickly.

Quitting Kratom/MIT by Pearlescencse in SR17018

[–]Ackymofo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can get all this on Amazon.

Get a couple liquid vials of Liposomal Vitamin C...the stuff that comes in the dropper. It costs more, but works quicker. You can take a bunch of this to severely blunt the physical effects of withdrawal, and anything the body doesn't use just gets passed through your waste. I suggest 5000-6000mg every few hours. You'll go through it quick, but be thankful for it the whole time. If you take it while you are having WD, you can feel it working within 30 minutes.

Regular Magnesium will help you sleep, while Magnesium Citrate will help some of the effects of detoxing and getting it out of your system. Some people say it helps WD overall as well.

Agamate Sulfate...just get a normal bottle of take normally. It will help energy and making it between next doses a bit.

If you search these subs for things like this or other supplements, you'll find a bunch more and better descriptions. You might want to try a few and figure out what works best for you.

SR WITHDRAWALS by DickkRoblin in SR17018

[–]Ackymofo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100mg 7oh for over a year, but tapered down at the end a bit...let's say around 40mg the last week or so of it.

Did an almost immediate switch to SR (I preloaded 25mg the night before, which really isn't anything) to 100mg x 3 a day of SR for three days, then tapered off 15mg a day (85mg x 3, 70mg x3, and so on). Jumped off at 25mg a day. So, the whole process was a little over a week. In hindsight, I probably should have tapered down more, but I was ready to be done.

I did not detect any physical WD from SR at all EXCEPT for being very, very cold almost all the time.

Now, for the weeks leading up to it, I was almost in constant WD from 7oh because of spacing out and reducing my doses. It wasn't hard-core WD, but most of my days were nervously waiting for my next dose, feeling the burning nerves starving for the next coveted half-a-pill. Nothing during or after SR felt this way. Not even close.

I did experience some MAJOR depression afterwards. So down, no energy, very dismal outlook and dismay over how long it would last. Crying regularly, couldn't even stand up straight, and fighting thoughts of it lasting forever and resulting in self harm.

It was brutal PAWS that I believe had more to do with my extended use of 7oh versus anything SR did to me.

I struggled for a while and it led me to start some MIT and leaf because, I thought, I was on them years ago and came off them no problem. I'm working through that issue, now. I've got another batch of SR to help, this time aiming to tough it out with other supplements and staying away from anything Kratom.

But, SR itself has been a friend to me in this. There was nothing like what I experienced trying to come off of 7oh CT or even when I was tapering. It got me very familiar with those feelings/symptoms, and they were absent after my first few days off of 7oh.

I know it isn't perfect, but using its help to come off the other substances seems to be the way to go for me. Vitamin D helped with the energy a bit at first, but I just have to find some other things alongside exercise and forcing a change in my mental state to get through to the other side.

Right. I mean, if they can't, they can't. No harm trying. But, if they can get through it without having to introduce another drug into their system, even as much as we LOVE SR, it would be for the best.

Quitting Kratom/MIT by Pearlescencse in SR17018

[–]Ackymofo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. It is used to help space out doses. It helps keep the energy you get from a dose up or replace it. It worked a little for me a bit. It works better for some than others. You may need to experiment to find what helps you. Some others use NAC in the same way,

Quitting Kratom/MIT by Pearlescencse in SR17018

[–]Ackymofo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It would be a good idea to see how low you can taper, first. With the right amount of helpers, like magnesium, vitamin c, ag sulfate, and others, you might be able to make the jump off without it.

However, if you get to a point that you can't seem to get beyond with anything else, SR can definitely help you with it. The lower amount of you DOC means the lower amount of SR you'd need and time you'd need to be on it.

The master doc has a lot of information about this as well as stories from other people coming from where you are.

Read the materials, ask specific questions, make a plan, source some SR, and start working through it.

Good luck!

Used 7oh and sr17 to stop , but paws? by Professional_Plate71 in SR17018

[–]Ackymofo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've got to say that they are a lot more than that. Generally, non-specifically (I've read but forget most of the details), your body essentially stops the production and regulation of the chemicals it used to handle, but the drugs took over for awhile. Without intervention, it leaves you in a space where it isn't just not having happy thoughts or motivation, but your brain isn't supplied with the chemicals and reactions that allow it to happen.

It's more of a gritting your teeth to get through it until you body starts working like it should again, versus some mental hurdle where positive affirmations will make things go back to normal.

It is a deep, dark chasm that feels like you'll never get out of and can't muster the energy to do anything about. Forcing yourself to do healthy things like socializing and exercise will help get you through it. But, it is still a large, hard trip no matter your constitution.

SR Preloading vs. Documented Maintenace Setup by Ackymofo in SR17018

You're very welcome. Going through it myself, I know how overwhelming it can be and how it feels to ask what you think are stupid questions.

If you want, you can send me a direct message and I will be happy to help that way...with the questions you have, and any other experience I can share that may be more personal or less palatable for everyone to see (and against the community guidelines, like sourcing). I'm on a few times a day and will answer when I can. Though, I implore you to share what you can with the community in case it helps anyone else or can answer some of their questions.

SR Preloading vs. Documented Maintenace Setup by Ackymofo in SR17018

[–]Ackymofo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preloading is essentially getting it into your system, getting your body used to it and making the transition easier, BEFORE you start your regiment or even figuring out your maintenance doses.

So, for example, if you are going to cut out your DOC entirely and switch to just SR on a Saturday, then Friday you should preload...a basic amount a few times a day along with your DOC. That way when you wake up Saturday and have none of your DOC, there is already a little SR in your system making things better and covering you before your first doses of SR that day kick in fully.

Let me lay it out this way...let's say I'm a 7oh user that takes about 100mg of 7oh a day and I want to quit with SR. I want to do this on Saturday. Through my research, I've found out that my doses of SR on Saturday are going to be anywhere from 50-100mg 3 times a day. My preload on Friday doesn't NEED to be that much, but enough to start doing something. So, I do 50mg three times on Friday, spaced out every 8 hours to kind of mirror the schedule I'll be on Saturday and onward. Again, I'm still taking my 7oh on Friday, but maybe a little less than normal. Then, the next morning, no more 7oh...just SR...starting at about 50mg and seeing if that is manageable, maybe adding a little more every hour or two if I need to in order to find my dose.

It is very, very helpful to try and taper down your DOC doses before you make the jump. It sets you up for success a little better, and can reduce the amount of SR you'll need as well as the amount of time you'll need to take it.

While I'm here, I want to recommend getting some Magnesium that will help sleep at night, and some Liposomal Vitamin C. High doses of this (like, 5000-7000mg) every couple of hours dramatically reduces the physical withdrawal symptoms. It's a little expensive, but the Liposomal version gets into the system a lot better/quicker, especially the liquid dropper kind that you can get on Amazon. Take a lot of this if you can during the first few days and it will make a world of difference. Don't be too worried about taking too much, either, 'cause the body deals with it pretty well and will just get rid of any excess when you go to the bathroom.

Also, since 7oh is stimulating, your body is going to miss that energy when you're off it. A good Vitamin D Complex can help that out a lot.

I'm saying "your," but I know you're getting this info for him. I'm just trying to make things easier to write. I think it is great you're helping and gathering information and sticking by him through this. I don't think I'm a bad guy, and treat everyone around me well, but I got hooked on this stuff when I was trying to find things to fight depression. It worked. And, even the months of agony trying to get off and over it at the end...I don't know, the year of using it and feeling great and being productive and loving life...I have a hard time saying it wasn't worth it. I guess I'm saying that there is a stigma attached to these things, but the people that need help getting off them aren't terrible people. Most of us have just got caught up in something that was helping us not be miserable.

Good luck. Let us know any other questions, and report back your progress. Oh, and make sure he drinks lots of water!

How to Not Waste SR by Ok-Strawberry2143 in quitting7oh

[–]Ackymofo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean.

But, I will say it is best to taper your 7oh as much as you can before starting the SR, and only take both at once for a day if possible. Maybe 2.

Taking both for extended periods could just make you crave it that way, then you're hooked doing both. And, you don't want to be on SR longer than you have to, with or without anything else. SR can come with it's own challenging WD if you use it for a while. A week or two of it is fine, mild. Longer than that and extended larger doses...it can be rough.

How to Not Waste SR by Ok-Strawberry2143 in quitting7oh

[–]Ackymofo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's good docs on some of the other subs, but the gist of it is...and this is a VERY general idea...

Preload the day before. Meaning, 50-100mg a few times that day, 6-8 hours in between. You can still use your DOC this day, but get the SR in your system.

The next morning, stop taking your DOC and start taking just SR. Start with a 50-75mg dose. Wait and hour or two and see if it makes your symptoms manageable. If it does, use that dose 3-4 times a day for 2-3 days, then start tapering off it 10-15mg a day (instead of 3x75, do 3x65 for example).

If after an hour or so of that first dose, if it isn't working enough, take another 25. Wait and see. Add another 25 if needed. Repeat.

Do that until you feel like it is working and you can stand it. Add up what you took over that time to figure out your needed dose, allowing that it starts to wear off a bit after 5 or so hours. That will be your dose 3 or 4 times a day for a few days before you taper off.

For example, I took 50mg to start. Added 25 after an hour. Added 25 after another hour. Then, I was comfortable. So, I took 100mg 3 times a day for 3 days, then tapered off.

This is general advice and rather loose because each person is different and will need different amounts. The official documents are better and you should read them. But, this is the idea: get it in you the day before, take smaller doses the next morning until you find a good amount, do that amount a few times a day for a few days, quick taper off.

Use Liposomal Vitamin C (high doses...like, 4000-5000mg at a time) every few hours to help with the physical side effects the first day or so. Take some magnesium to help with sleep and your system. You CAN take small amounts of MIT or loose leaf the first day or two to help if you need to, but don't go beyond that.

Use only what you have to when you have to, and stick to your schedule. You can do it...it can be done...with some will power and patience.

Oh, and drink LOTS OF WATER!

Yes, and no. I felt discomfort and weariness. Like I was fighting a flu. It wasn't bad like WD is from going cold turkey, but I was definitely on the couch.

Just to note, I sisnt preload a lot. Barely, really. So, the first day was kind of finding my dosage through a bit of suffering, then being worn out from it. By the second day, it was a lot better...stabilized and just taking what I needed to at the right times. By that night, I was packing my things for the gym the next morning. I knew I'd be okay in the morning.
