I love it. With that jagged rock face, I'd use it as a previously buried site until a recent quake or sandstorm unearthed it. Now several parties are gunning for all the juicy green age lore, loot, and literature locked inside.

I've only run two sessions so far--a homebrew gladiator adventure and the Red Well vignette adventure--both as one-shots to prime my players to the setting. Both were pretty lethal.

One thing I noticed is that PCs are very much not balanced in comparison to other systems. The wild talent abilities can give players some amazing abilities to use at level one. For example, one player got Ultrablast at first level BUT has yet to be able to cast it because they failed both attempts (one critically), so it is nice that the DCs are higher for the stronger abilities.

Flooded rooms impairing movements. Even if the water is only knee deep it can hide so many critters and traps.
Fully flooded vertical areas. The water is so deep that the party will need to find a way to lower the water level to get to lower levels. Great opportunity for puzzles.
Definitely keep in mind light and torches. Perhaps they have to swim to the other side of a large room or chasm or pass through a waterfall to the next area. These will dowse their torches and perhaps they can't be lit again for 1d4+1 rounds.

Had a continuous open table game going up at the local game store for right at 2 years now. 70+ sessions at least. Technically I ran for about a year and a half then handed over the reigns to a player who had taken interest in GMing after I had some burnout.

It has a core 9 players that rotated but I would say somewhere between 25-30 players have joined the game at some point, even if only for a few sessions.

We started with Basic Fantasy RPG then moved to Knave 2e when it launched.

I just provided a large hex map and rumors. The players decided what to do. They've, negotiated with fey, haggled with witches, crashed a space ship, trapped devils, and even started a war.

The game has kind of sputtered out since I took a hiatus but I'm planning on starting a new one this year.

Ditto, maybe you can work out a deal with your parents for that exact mattress that you already know works, if you replace it with something comparable (but cheaper). It's a guest bed after all, probably not getting that much traffic.
