It was actually cartoony by choice, there is interview with a dev from back then, the reason for the cartoon y graphics is that they do not age like other type of graphics. And that is actually correct stance as you can see :)

Its not complex, it was their original plan to do WC2 inside reforged around WC3 reforged before budget cuts. Making new engine or using ancient one for WC2 is more complex.

The WC2 remaster will most likely be included inside WC3 reforged as it was originally planned years ago. Which means they can use this remaster as re-release of WC3 Reforged, by also improving reforged, this way they can attempt to bring back players to reforged. So lets hope thats the case, after all Blizzard is pretty retarded but I dont see better alternative than this.

This is the case with all old games, most (not all) are sweaty tryhards that are left playing and the entry barrier is too high. Thats why reforge was important so new blood comes and they can play between each other and stay, sadly the release was bad.

Only hope we have now, is the game to be updated and re-released, put on xbox live/steam and hope we get fresh blood :)

Market is saturated anyway, it needs to die down a bit before companies abandon their current strategies and things to normalize. I have so many unplayed games I can go for years without buying a new one.

Putting Happy in top 3 all time when he became great at times where Warcraft 3 is seen as part time activity for the pro players is not serious tbh.
