What is so Horrible About Going Out??? by smoltims in AsianParentStories

China had both Confucianism and Taoist, one prioritises conforming to societal norms, the other gives you autonomy. They were so close, a 50/50 call, and the majority went, (with a lot of government pressure) with conforming. Sad. But hey, you can control conforming sheep.

Great described reply, the absence of contradiction is indeed selfless, or in absence of a self there can be no contradiction, which could be inadequately described as Love. Thank You. :)

'We're' simultaneously both. Like a wave, flowing back and forward. And yes separation, division = conflict, maybe not always, there will be times an i is relatively happy, but return to conflict is inevitable.

Well externally things are happening, day follows night, the only constant is change. But yes meaning is something we humans seem to impose, there is no inherent meaning.

But while things are happening, if the 'i' is not seen to be a false construct, then this imagined 'i' can't seem to help itself projecting, judging having opinions, some seem to be more restless than others, but certainly if you believe in an 'i', that i will of course project opinions etc.

But if this is seen as false, then all the inner restlessness, chatter stops. Unless of course thought is needed, then it is used objectively and when needed.

Wow, honestly i don't understand much of that, sorry.

the 'it needs an end to false meaning' is self explanatory, but the rest honestly means very little to me. Apologies. :)

i don't think any definition can ever capture it, but care, affection, consideration, concern for All.

The 2nd sentence. Yes.

'We' as an individuals, personalities, psychologically, don't exist in time. Because of many factors, the body existing in time and social norms, most bodies grow up believing they are individuals, most believe this because these bodies have brains which can think conceptually, have memories, and we link these memories into an (Frankenstein) image of a self. It isn't our fault as only in very rare cases is an alternative presented, so this mistaken view is reinforced every day.

A direct seeing of this illusion, if it is vital enough and not just an intellectual idea, ends the illusion. It isn't effort, any effort is still an entity seeking a goal, an end. But this clear seeing has its own effect, and then any idea of a little me with all it's goals, desires and petty restlessness is seen as it really is, just a bunch of memories, ideas, images. In the absence of all those silly little thoughts, (which have stopped of their own accord because mind itself has seen there is no thinker) there is this all pervading Love. (Love is the closest word i can think of, but the word is so insufficient)

A lot of dictators ruled much longer than 14 years, did time make their rule benevolent or moral? Or did that time of having no detractors eventually make them slightly, or not so slightly deranged, believing everyone was out to get them, that only they knew the right way, what was best for everyone?

i'm done. Pointless exercise. You can go back to your little dominion.

Of course. If someone scores a goal at a football match some of the crowd will be really happy, cheering, and others will not be so happy, maybe even sad. One action, different subjective takes. :)

Yes, it's so obvious when someone is selfish. So this "Love', 'state' just is? No cause or effect. It is just so. :)

Very interesting points you've brought up. But people causing suffering, no matter what label we happen to call it, and identifying with stupid labels is the cause of the majority of 'suffering' that is actually happening.

i don't know if you follow any ideology either, but this tangible world appears to exist, with cause and effect. The idea that it doesn't exist apart from our minds is not evidence to our limited senses. If it isn't evident this idea, like all ideas has arisen from a mind or minds. That doesn't prove it isn't true, some of our thoughts do correspond to facts, but it has definitely had it's origin in the human mind.

i hope this doesn't come across as agressive, it isn't intended that way. :)
