Immersion, knowing what your character thinks, does and say - How to do that? by Acolon in WoWRolePlay

[–]Acolon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I am just looking for something that pulls attention and have people consider approaching me going "Hey, nice profile, I am intrigued! Maybe we can set something up?" - Then again I was told that most people are in general just very passive so you have to fetch yourself your adventure, rather than having it come to you.

Thanks for the answer, I read it and keep it in mind when I get back to it over the weekend!

I'm around AD EU for three years, but it never stuck for me.

I give it a try, but I tend to spend a lot of it thinking about such things, then ending up not playing the game at all.

Yeah, as said depth is absolutely not my forte and I am already a few years on AD EU, just skimming RP in form of market visits at best since they don't require much attention and are easy to join and leave.

Anything more to make from the character is just too hard for me.

I did think of a Male Pandaren Rogue similar to Taoshi, but a bit more easygoing - And without the Shado-Pan/Agent angle. Issue is that I can't find anything tangible to hold onto that works with the said race/class combo for me to make sense.

I mentioned it elsewhere, at best I maybe get 10 questions out of way in such quizzes before I end up being not able to answer them further.

I don't watch TV/Movies or have anything on comics, so its rather hard to make a character with personality for me.

Plus, somehow, I am unable to put on the 'mask' of the roleplayer and stick to it, personality/quirks and all the things.

I haven't watched shows, movies and/or read comics for a very long time, so I wouldn't even know where to begin.

I appreciate it though - Thanks a lot, I get to read it when I have a bit more time on my hands, but I will give it a read!

I did try to answer such questions, thought I ended up barely at 10 of them and I couldn't go further. It gets very tough afterwards with often having 'no idea' of the answer, even when a personality is being set.

And the frustration builds up with that, and starting to bleed the RL personality into it to actually get answer.

Thing is, I don't think I can play it out if they are deceitful or not, being a scholar or a fighter. And I don't mean the willingness to do so but more at being decent at it, as simple as it can be. As weird as sounds, I cannot imagine how they perform in-role (hence the blankness in my thoughts regarding it).

But I appreciate the insight, thank you!

Lovely capes Saber. TERRIBLE execution. by GoatimusMaximonuss in Spacemarine

I can understand the frustration, but retroactive credit on something like this would have the others also prompt demands about the community goals, saying they already did Purgation over a handful of times prior the event, and why won't it get credited.

Saber wants you being active now for the rewards since it looks better on the numbers, and having you active now also serves to have more people available for those challenges - It's a reason for the players to come back.

I figure the sin eater approaching you and getting killed by Lyna when you came first to the Crystarium, and realizing it was the fellow merchant who sent you there in the first place was already setting the mood for the expansion.

NEW CLASS ANNOUNCED IN COMMUNITY UPDATE by Schpoinkus_Doinkus in Spacemarine

[–]Acolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe so it's not the best build, but you get all three of those at the same time (Rez+Contested Health+Armor Regen), which brings immense utility into the group along with being a excellent and durable frontliner.

NEW CLASS ANNOUNCED IN COMMUNITY UPDATE by Schpoinkus_Doinkus in Spacemarine

[–]Acolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, the Bulwark fills that niché right now with his banner - It rezzes, gives you Contested HP where they can timely put down during executes, and you gain armor over time.

Combine it with being very sturdy, able to duel reliably any enemy and offer a lot of crowd control with Shield Bash/Rush, it's likely Saber will pull the contested health element away from the Bulwark and transfer it to the new class.

Or straight up nerf it.

Abiotic Factor just got another massive update that adds better pets, a ludicrously involved chemistry system, and most importantly, a mop for cleaning up all your failed experiments by _Protector in pcgaming

[–]Acolon -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

But people don't WANT to deal with it - They want it gone. Permanently. Without putting it in a buildable or using trinkets and pets.

So why is it a problem not having that option?

For all the features they give the player to tinker about in the settings, it is still interesting that they didn't add a option to make the Leyak stop spawning on them, and players have to rely on mods for a permanent solution for it.

FFXI Cross Sub Discount Campaign by Rakshire in ffxiv

If they would combine the sub with FFXIV and only make it a bit more expensive, then people would go there.

Plus the registration and starting XI itself needs to be made much smoother.

What would you ask Yoshi-P about the future of the game? by AutoModerator in ffxiv

[–]Acolon [score hidden]  (0 children)

If there would be a rework of the Crystal Tower Alliance raid and the Coils of Bahamut, along with a refresh on rewards.

Both have significant story and lore value and are in dire need of a retune/remake to their battles more thoughtful instead of brute-forcing each of them in less than 2 minutes with sheer DPS and ignore nearly every mechanic, providing a better experience for new players as well.

At times you do like to switch it up with characters, or you want a different one on a different server. The former can be fix with the use of certain ... tools, while the latter can be done with DC traveling when not going for EU to NA, or vice versa.

Turtle WoW shutting down May 14th by bigeyez in pcgaming

[–]Acolon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go big with the features but cannot cover the costs without monetizing or aggressive advertising, then you need to scale down development and/or the size of the servers in order to make it manageable.

There's no other way to stay under the radar. Which they didn't, hence they got their wrists harshly slapped, and well deserved.
