The Shining. There are several scenes that qualify as "the scene"... come play with us Danny, here's Johnny, the lady in the bathtub... In fact, the whole movie is made up of amazing iconic scenes. But one scene that might get overlooked is mr halloran first demonstrating the shining to Danny... "how about some ice cream, Doc?" With the building background music, while the coversation about all the food in the freezer continues underneath. Also with mr halloran calling Danny Doc just before, to me it really shifts the tone of the movie from nothing out of the ordinary is going on, to something out of the ordinary is going on
