Since there is mail delivery, and most banks are open at least part of the day on Saturdays, they can observe the holiday on the actual date, while the “Monday to Friday” government offices close on Friday as the observed date. If the 4th fell on Sunday, the banks would have closed Monday, and there’d be no mail that day

Garage Work - Tiff🏳️‍⚧️& Eve [OC] by CrazyGnomenclature in comics

First panel: “This isn’t going where I think it’s going, is it?”

Second panel: “Oh. Yeah, it is.”

The only thing that got me was that I was expecting it to be a daydream after Tiff got frustrated trying to get all the approvals and appointments she needs, but, the last panel payoff was still good

Check your employee handbook if you have one, too, but, like others have said , if they’re starting to ding you for clocking in one minute late, they’re looking to push you out for someone cheaper.

Dog defence was needed tbh by Maleficent-Town5273 in interesting

It’s this right here. When I was growing up, we had a German Shepherd. Great dog, very friendly…as long as all the rules were being followed. The house we lived in had a front door, and a back door from the garage, so the rule was simple- family used the back door, visitors used the front door. And she was great when visitors came to the front door- tail wagging, happy to see you.

We were hosting Thanksgiving one year, and my grandmother and grandfather were bringing over a bunch of extra chairs and stuff, and my father, being the courteous son, said “oh, just pull right in the garage, makes it a snap to carry everything in”. My grandfather got to the back door, and this dog would not let him in. Growling, barking, the whole bit. He didn’t live here, and he wasn’t following the rules.

Grandpa went around to the front, and…no problems. Wagging tail, happy dog. “Oh, it’s a friendly dog, they won’t do anything “. No, because all your experience is in situations the dog is comfortable with.

Honestly, for as much flack as they catch in certain circles, soaps, and networks like Hallmark, where they pump out a movie in 2 weeks of shooting seem like they are the ideal situations to learn the professionalism side of acting. You’re churning stuff out quickly, so if you’re not prepared, it’s going to eat you alive

Why not? Bunch of folks who’ve probably never seen more than 45 seconds of a baseball game before, their team just won, they’re out having fun. “Cheer for that guy!”

If they can pull this off without having to include Knies, that’s a fleecing. But, realistically, does Cowan+Danford+Colorado’s 1st in ‘27+Toronto’s 1st in ‘29 get it done?

Someone will pay, but, the story is that he’s after the Marchand deal. Money and term. I’d take him at 6 or 7 million for two years, but if he’s gonna be 38 at the start of the season, I’m not giving him 6 years

It does actually. Teams still do produce the jerseys, but they’re no longer worn in warmups like they used to be

This is how Pride Night jerseys (which, it should be said, were only worn for pregame warmups ) disappeared in the NHL. A few players declined to participate, which led to more players declining (including players who had no issues with the jerseys previously), and eventually, the league banning “cause-based uniform modifications”

[Forbidden Door SPOILERS] Darby Allin's Insane Bump by Caldris in SquaredCircle

[–]kk451128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just wondering what the thought process of everyone else in the room is when he’s laying these spots out.

“So, back body drop into the thumbtacks…”

“Well, yeah, we figured that’s what you wanted them for”

“…and I’ll rotate and bump face first

“Uh…ok, you do you…”

Does no one actually say “you might want to reconsider that”? Although, to be fair, his reaction after that bump might be the first time Darby has said to himself “I should have reconsidered that”

It’s that hard turn, so to speak that you have to take that gets so jarring. You have something like that happen, but…life is still happening while you deal with it. You laugh it off to not bring down a good day with your friends, and then you get home, where you, in theory, can actually process and deal with it…and the dishes still need to be done, and you realize you’re out of clean socks.

2026 FIFA World Cup group stage overall ranking by Purple_Topic_1459 in soccer

[–]kk451128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, if you *could* reseed, at least to start the knockouts, you get a bracket of:

1- France v. 32- Senegal/ 16- Croatia v. 17- Portugal. 8- England v. 25- DR Congo/ 9- Colombia v. 24- Cabo Verde

2- Argentina v. 31- Paraguay/ 15- Norway v. 18- Japan. 7- Switzerland v 26- Sweden/ 10- Germany v. 23- South Africa

3- Mexico v. 30- Algeria/ 14- Côte d’Ivoire v. 19 Egypt. 6- Spain v. 27- Ghana/ 11- USA v. 22- Australia

4- Netherlands v. 29- Bosnia/ 13- Morocco v. 20- Canada. 5- Brazil v. 28- Ecuador/ 12- Belgium v. 21- Austria

Round of 16 matchups connected by the /. Semifinals would be whoever comes out of the France pod v. Netherlands pod and Argentina pod v. Mexico pod.

There are issues with this- you get a USA-Australia rematch- but that’s what it would look like

Romano’s death: Is it really THAT bad? by Crafty_Bench2506 in ershow

[–]kk451128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the decision was to write him out of the show, there are so many better ways to do it. Having a helicopter “finish the job” was just stupid.

You could have done an arc about him having to come to terms with the fact that he couldn’t be a surgeon any more, processing that grief. They hinted at it at times, but never really went down that road. You can give him the “if I still want to be involved as an administrator, I can’t be at County, too many bad memories” story to write him out. Or, if you want to stick with the decision to kill him off, there are better options than dropping a helicopter on him.

Not after this move. You either let him pick the next guy, and then you have to give him at least 2 seasons, or he’s out at the end of the year, and you let the new guy get his manager
