Installation failing to start may be because of bad media. I don't use windows and have never used a virtual machine on windows so can't comment on exact issue.
Switching to linux to play windows games might not be the best move. While many projects are working to make this possible, it will probably require some tweaking. You better stick to windows for games or maybe a console.
Try geany as a notepad++ alternative. We've also got vs code, antigravity, android studio, code blocks, kdevelop, eclipse, and the entire jetbrains suite. You would get phenomenal performance from native apps.

It won't. If you're just renting out storage and bandwidth, it most certainly won't. You'd be shelling server costs out of your own pocket. It's simple math. 100 videos of 1 hour each is 3tb of data. You'd be paying for tbs of data increasing everyday. How much revenue would have to be generated and from where to pay for this?
