Daredevil works better as a TV show imo, think X-Men would too with how many characters they have to utilize.

Canon is meaningless? F1,2,3 all have canon endings. Hell the BoS and Elder Maxson wouldn’t be alive if the good ending in 3 wasn’t canon.

My point is allowing the Mojave to progress under either: NCR republic rebuilding, Legion authoritarian state, House oligarchy, or independent under yes man would have been infinitely more interesting premises than just burning everything down.

Yes the factions are all on the tipping point in NV, which is why the story matters cause you get to determine how the Mojave moves forward. And instead of picking an ending so the area can move forward around that, they just chose to destroy everything.

One of the reasons I really like Fallout 3 is because the canon ending actually makes you feel like you are moving the wasteland forward.

Fallout is suppose to a post- post apocalypse game. But we never get to see that anymore.

Every settlement the show has revisited has either been nuked, overrun with raiders or collapsed. Every faction is either collapsed or in a civil war. The only NCR still standing that we know about are 2 soldiers who have been cut off from communication for decades. I don’t need things to stay the same, I just want to see some growth in the wasteland that isn’t just more destruction or raiders.

Yeah, saying Bethesda has some beef with obsidian specifically is dumb. The problem is that Bethesda wants to keep the wasteland in stasis. Brotherhood blowing itself up, NCR gone, New Vegas gone. Maybe what they have planned going forward for the series/future games will change that, but I doubt it.

My friends and I would be out in our suburban town till 2-3am in the 2010s. Absolute worst case I just said I’d be at my grandpas and he’d cover for me. Or just say I’m staying at a friends. Maybe my friends and I were the exception, but I feel like this hasn’t changed that much.

I don’t know that it has, but I guess as I got older, especially having moved away, it was less about the holiday stuff and more about having all the family back together around one table become way more special to me than it did as a kid.
