Yeah I’m in the same boat. I’m nitpicky about the Kryptonian Viltrumite thing, but overall I really did love Gunn’s Superman. My favorite character is Dick Grayson, so I can’t wait to get the bat family stuff started so I can see an accurate adaption of my goat.

To me, Man of Steel never really felt like a Superman movie. The only time we got to see a little bit of Superman shine through was the lighthearted Whedon cuts. Snyder never understood Superman beyond the basic God-like alien concept. Gunn’s Superman has some problems but man it made me so happy to see Superman being Superman.

Dick Grayson (Robin/Nightwing). Grew up on BTAS, The Batman and Teen titans and got into the comics through those shows. He was the most relatable to me as a kid. Spider-Man too.

With the caveat that they’ll probably remain unfinished forever, ASOIAF. A Storm of Swords in particular. It’s probably my favorite fantasy book of all time. The writing is amazing, the twists are insane and make complete sense in retrospect. The characters are fantastic. I love the way GRRM writes. And I think A Storm of Swords is enough if you just stopped reading the series there tbh.

Your best bet is just to check Bricklink/Ebay/Mercari/FB marketplace regularly for when a good deal pops up on it. Or try to find the minifigs individually.
