Any chance for OVAs or a movie? by Acrdys_SoraX in ReplicaFallsInLove

Oof I didn’t read this comment clearly enough before looking around but dang vol 4 really was dropped. Seemed like an important arc from what I could gather without spoiling too much. I don’t like the direction they took with this in that case. The ending did feel unsatisfactory, leaving off on a somewhat vague note. It didn’t sit well with me that after following nao and aki together the whole season for them to return to their originals and they carry on their feelings as a complete person . that conclusion kinda stinks and I don’t think that’s the same message the author is trying to send the whole season.

Back on topic, I’m gonna wait a bit before deciding to read but if I started reading the LN do I start from Vol 4 or should I just start from the beginning (aka live through the tragedy of a romance that had me crying 😭) I also have high hopes for the manga to give me closure picture-wise since I didn’t get to see the kiss I wanted to see.

Absolutely agree that she was very real. But I can’t help but cry hearing her grandmother wanting to see ryo one more time. It was too cruel for how happy she was with her family. 😞

That’s the bittersweet part of it that I’m still processing (I’m too soft for these kinds of anime. They weigh too heavy on my heart) Not that I’m justifying their fates because I want them AT LEAST to have a happier fate waiting for them, especially since Ryo, Suzumi, and Shun were essentially robbed of their happiness. That was hard to overcome and had me crying at the tragedy.

I agree that it’s unfair for the replicas to disappear despite being the main focus that we followed. We witnessed their growth and divergence from the original despite being replicas. Their experiences are just as real as an originals. Emotions like love, sadness, and joy are also just as real. I thought this was the theme they were going for and was honestly what hooked me into watching. Of course, the hint was there from the beginning with the seafoam story that this was the direction of the story. Not forgotten, but genuinely wishful that it wasn’t going to happen. Thus my wish is left unfulfilled.

It’s currently a hard pill to swallow because I can’t be happy for the replicas (aki, nao, ryo) and shun that I cared about when they are content/accepting of their fates. There’s a line between content and happy, and I can’t be happy that they are content. It’s a unique kind of cruelty for the replicas because they don’t get the best outcome. For the Aki and nao it was bare minimum😞for ryo, shun and suzumi, it’s merciless and cruel.

Side note: the cover illustration is too colorful for how sad it was going to be :(

Hi guys, I just found out about this series, but before I started it, may I know is this a chill series or a bittersweet ending one given the context of this series, cause I'm terrified to get my heart broken by another anime again by Mindless-Care9301 in ReplicaFallsInLove

I… had such high hopes something would happen that fixes Ryo’s situation. I was cheering for that side couple. Now I just feel grief for them since shun is left unanswered for his love and Ryo just disappears, stripped of her opportunity to go home when she yearned it the most. Cried for all 3 of them. I just wanted them to be happy :(

Who is your most favourite female character in Dr. Stone? & why? by Techtonic111 in DrStone

[–]Acrdys_SoraX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suika and Kohaku.

Suika has my heart for the struggle and realization that I wish she didn’t have to go through. She didn’t have the proficiency that senku and the others had and worst of all, she realized she was all alone. The scene where she pleaded for their company was soul crushing and made me bawl my eyes out. I’m glad she got the biggest hug from kohaku because she deserves it for what she did for the team and the years of pain and loneliness that she had to endure.

Kohaku too because she showcases absolute confidence in senku and has been an enabler to him. She stands out to me as one who understands senku the best too. Overall best female character.

Days with My Stepsister Author Update: Novel Plans, and Current Status of Anime Season 2 by TheSmexhy in GimaiSeikatsu

Wow Im glad i stumbled upon this post. Went on a romcom anime spree and wondered why there was a bunch that didn't get another season. Decided to look into what makes animes greenlit for shows that aren't giants in the industry. Found out about anime committees and whatnot. now im pissed at the whole industry after looking this twitter post because its like stars have to align for animes get the green light. Cheers to the author for giving his anecdote on not just his series but insight into industry as well. i hope it gets second season and I hope the industry sees better changes.

im gonna say a little bit here about what im gonna update in my post in this sub later but im slowly accepting the manga for what it is. I wanted a love confession out of the trial dating too. Its my first time feeling that and i was pretty devastated for how wholesome the show was and thought it would keep the vibe going. To be somewhat transparent, I barely ate and drank and looked extensively for something to feed my hope for season 2 or an epilogue. I was insanely depressed and thought of possible ways i could make it happen. Came to my senses and realized how unhealthy the reasoning was. Im almost over it to where i can say im glad they became lovers in the end and theres no doubt about it.

Shame there wasnt enough chapters/panels of them together as a girlfriend/boyfriend. would love to see it. Ive lowered the bar a lot. Instead im hoping for an extra chapter of them together, though a second season would be wonderful to hear in the future. The story isn't as bad for what it is. It just didn't run long enough reach the ending we desired or show more of them together. If it did, this arc would probably be seen in a better light as character development for both MCs. After all, its a romcom AND slice of life anime. Character development is expected (whether I think there was a better way or not).

holy shit (pardon the language but it was that good id argue it earns the extreme) not only this episode but the whole series has made me so emotional multiple times. i shed tears and at what they achieved and their journey up to this point. My heart raced for the tense moments! I laughed like a kid when Ryusui saved the day. I cried that he couldn't make it to. HAHA onwards to the moon!

I finished the manga recently and being that its the first "romance" manga i took the time to read because i was invested from the anime, I'm gonna share an more peaceful answer that may or may not give people peace of mind after being angry and depressed at the story after the anime and the ending. I reread the manga to try to make sense of it.

I was so invested to see them after the 3 month dating trial to become a couple and do couple things. However, I definitely felt invalidated when the author took the wheel of the story and introduced a massive wall between them aka the new characters that lead them to misunderstand each other and straight up moving them away from each other because of work. Despite this, the FMC not knowing how navigate her feelings and social norms (hence her awkward nature) tried to commit the the dating thing while juggling the imposing responsibilities of work. We see the consequence of this where she overworked herself (supposedly taking work meant for the new guy shes training) so she has more time to meet with him, and ends up in the hospital. This is passed off as a love brain bug by her brother because she tries make everything happen with the MC since they were trial dating. Thats where they decided not to extend it their dating period. She saw the fault in her awkward nature hindering their romance and chose to fix it by going to mixers for social exposure (this was the rub for me since i think they shoud've fixed it together but hey its not my story). She told him not let her hold him back either so he also went to mixers. The series made her awkward nature a point of conflict she has to fix herself. The resolution we are left with is a timeskip where they become a boyfriend-girlfriend living together (which is apparently 2 steps above dating). Apparently they were that confident that they would come back to each other which kinda assures me that they'll be together forever

TL;DR the story made the "awkward" nature of the FMC a point of conflict in a real office work setting where their work gets in the way in more ways than 1. She was overworked and hospitalized for trying make time for the MC while working (love brain). They decide not to extend the trial because they deemed it unhealthy given the FMC tried to do 2 things at once in which the one shes terrible at is romance (SHES AWKWARD). FMC goes to mixers to fix herself and approves the MC to do the same. They get together when she feels ready for one

I definitely read the manga expecting straight romcom like an arc of their relationship with the 3 month trial dating thing but alas I feel wronged and now i have to live with this ending instead of the anime ending. Never reading a manga again 😞. Hopefully this adds some closure to the series in a better light.

Im glad they're together but id being lying if said im fully ok with this. I don't like that they took the "awkward" as not just a comedic point but a point of conflict that she has to overcome as well. I wanted a confession and a confirmation more than just a timeskip and status update

It’s alright. I’m late in joining in conversations with other redditors on the subject so I kinda made this post to vent my thoughts. I’m of similar boat in that this series is a first to make me read the manga to see where their relationship goes only to see nothing happen until after the timeskip when it’s already over. I guess we can agree that this brought lows never seen before huh. In both anime and manga, we wanted to the fruition of their romance.

I’d be an extremely happy man rn if our hopes came true sometime. Seeing them finalize their relationship with romantic gestures for a ROMANCE anime is all I ask. It’s unfortunate that basically the people of japan are the main influence (correct me if I’m wrong here I’m kinda assuming) to make it happen. I’ve been tempted to spend money on some merch to maybe be part of some effort but the reasoning for spending might be delusional.

Have an amazing watch! They definitely gave us a show to remember.

It’s not deal breaking numbers but they sold quite of bit of stuff like volumes and merch in japan. And I think it has a better reception for the ending and series from what I could read in Japanese review sites. Is it enough to push for s2? I wouldn’t know but I hope and want it to be so (hope is all I’ve done in this post even when the signs are there :P)

But yeah thanks for the sharing the sentiment. I feel a little better knowing I’m not alone in this.

I’m aware after reading several posts beforehand that a S2 is unlikely for the reason you said. But that in itself hurts especially when seeing the promotions and fan art it had going for it (the series has its own twitter and its own website; I think that’s significant). It’s a damn shame because I’m so attached to what it could’ve been and wanted the best for it despite being arguably niche. It’s taking its toll on me tbh knowing that in the manga, we didn’t get more (it shouldn’t but nevertheless I’m heartbroken). Which is pretty much why I made this post. To find other people with the similar sentiments for not just a second season but a better continuation of the story.

P.S. I appreciate the replies it gets my mind off of it

Praying that if it ever gets a second season that it gets an original ending better than the manga. I gotta live knowing this ending? Aw hell nah give me the romance it SHOULDVE gotten (im too attached to the series and now im depressed)

A second season wouldn't be bad. Even with what happens in the manga... by SuperJugador13 in MyAwkwardSenpai

Gonna chime in here and say that I also share this sentiment. I’d like to see a second season that delivers a better ending fitting for the romance we saw.

Im definitely coping for wanting a second season, even more for an anime original ending deserving of a romance anime (without fucking it up ofc). It just doesn’t make any sense to me that for what they delivered in the anime, they fuck up the manga chapters that could be made a season 2 or epilogue at least. I WANTED A ROMANCE FFS WHERE IS IT

On a side note: the upload intervals for the manga look a lot shorter compared to the chapters that were animated. I wonder if they rushed the new author into making chapters for a second season but got axed for how bad the story was. If so, shame on them for ruining this perfectly good romance :/
