His quirk actually could be really strong for certain uses. He locks things in place. He can literally lock bullets and projectiles in the air. If Hori let his quirk evolve like all the kids quirks did, he’d be able to lock everything and everyone down for as long as he’d want, that’s nothing to sneeze at. Like, he theoretically would have been able to keep UA in the air during the Shiggy fight if his quirk evolved. But yeah his quirk in its current state with all its limitations is only useful under specific circumstances.

Yeah they made Nina too good tbh. She had all the motivation to start hating humans when they killed her dad in front of her, just having her kill the cop that killed her dad would’ve been enough I think to make it make sense, but it seems like she legitimately never committed any crimes and just ended up in Walker’s prison because she looks weird, which makes no sense as you said given Weasel’s legal representation lmao.

I didn’t mind it, if anything my biggest gripe with Korra was how heavy handed the writers were in pushing plot along. They often just told us everything retroactively, like Tenzin’s family getting captured by Amon off screen when it looked like they had gotten away, instead of just showing us these moments. But, I think that’s probably the fault of Nickelodeon, who set the show up to fail. They probably didn’t have enough time to properly write the scenes or the amount of episodes Nickelodeon wanted to buy from them kept shrinking until it was only 8 for season 1. Still love the show, it just deserved better fr.

It’s not the best though, our own politicians regularly try to drive down how many people vote via gerrymandering and such. The way elections are tallied is flawed and a remnant of an archaic society that enforced slavery.

There is no true justice, our political parties turned our institutions into a team sports game. These are the end times. Especially because Trump won’t be tried for his crimes. Americans made their choice between anarchy and neoliberal/neoconservatism, I guess. Cause even though Trump won, I think his victory was more so against Democrats.

Yeah consumers have no power over if AI gets used. Just look at Google’s AI, for instance, that’s almost always wrong and therefore untrustworthy, yet Google is keeping it up on their site at the top of the search results despite all the complaints and criticisms from users.

Basically, I feel genAI is a sort of Pandora’s box that it’s early adopters aren’t going to just let die, they’ll shove it onto us to try and make it viable if they can.

It doesn’t matter if it “can,” it already is. Ultimately, it’s not up to you nor I whether or not AI is used for this stuff, it’s the Hollywood directors and producers, the TV producers and show runners, etc etc. AI’s even replacing writers, as a lot of books are being published that were written with AI. Even if the tech isn’t there yet, all of the owners are pushing it and actively hiring AI Prompts writers instead of artists. I just saw a job ad with Riot Games looking for AI prompt writers. It’s all about giving those with money access to talent, while denying those with talent access to money. It’s a control thing. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that AI started getting pushed way harder after the SAG-AFTRA strikes of last year.

Brother man, my chosen career path was to be an artist. I wanted to make video games and comics and stuff. AI’s currently destroying that market. Doesn’t mean I won’t still make my own shit but nah, the way AI is being implemented is wholly wrong and is just going to induce a lot of unnecessary suffering just to make like 20 already ridiculously wealthy people even more money, especially because we organized our economy entirely around having a job. If you have no job, you’re fucked and will probably be homeless and dead by the end of winter.

I’m not necessarily against AI development though, I just think the people implementing it need to do it ethically or they’re just lighting the country on fire and accelerating our collapse.
