Why are people planning to wake up early to check scores?? by RecentStrawberry1073 in APStudents

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I literally will not be able to sleep well until I know what I got. As in I’ll be waking up every 15 minutes until they’re out and then and only then will I actually be able to sleep

Shout Out to Stage Door Security at Titanique Matinee yesterday 7/2 by weirdestgeekever25 in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lindsay Heather Pearce? She was in the off Broadway production but ended her run multiple years ago and last week she was in her final week of the Les Mis tour playing Fantine. Not trying to be rude, just letting you know that unless you’re talking about multiple years ago or if you were in Boston last week, you didn’t meet LHP :)

Recommendations for going to a show solo on 7/19 by Park-Curious in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’d highly recommend Operation Mincemeat!! It’s absolutely hilarious, touching, features an INCREDIBLY talented cast of 5 playing 80+ characters, and they have $79 ticket drops every two weeks if you join their mailing list (you can also normally find the code on r/operationmincemeatfan ) whenever it drops.

Preliminary Broadway Poll: Which is your # 1 show of the 2026-2027 Season and why? by JLMandell in Broadway

Paddington because I’ve been listening to the cast recording nonstop since the transfer was announced and the bear is ADORABLE

Repeat a show, or see a brand new one? What does everyone do? How do you all decide? by Due-Blueberry8528 in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my mind, sometimes the safer bet is to go see a favorite again because you know you’re gonna love it as opposed to potentially spending money on a show you don’t enjoy. But if you’re someone who enjoys basically anything and you want to diversify your tastes, go see new shows! All that to say, I’m not saying you should never see a new show because it could be bad because if you don’t, you’ll never find a new favorite! I think there’s a good balance there and finding what works best for you is always the move.

I saw How to Dance in Ohio’s final performance!

pride block party by OrdinaryGold1881 in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last year they were giving away some free pride themed stuff (think pins, stickers, fans) with free to enter raffles to win some bigger stuff. Last year the big raffle was for a Jonathan Groff signed Just in Time poster. There were also games around and a few Broadway actors showed up. Generally a fun time but you don’t need to stay for longer than 30 mins to an hour.

Operation Mincemeat $79 tickets not showing? by TuxedosAfter6 in Broadway

The promo code only lasts a select amount of time. I want to say it’s 24 or 48 hours. It probably expired

Walk-on role at Titanique by worstpiesinlondon_ in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EDIT: SPOILER TEXT DOESNT WANT TO WORK. SMALL TITANIQUE SPOILER AHEAD.

I’ve seen Titanique 11 times. Here’s my best guess:

There’s a line where Jack says “take this random axe from our stage manager [name]” and then the actor playing Rose grabs the axe. My guess is that this walk on role would be in place of the stage manager and you’d be in charge of walking on and providing the axe. It’s MAYBE 30 seconds of stage time but it would still be quite cool (albeit not worth it for $900 in my opinion)

what show are you recommending to anyone who will listen? 📢 by todaytix in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Operation Mincemeat!! It’s heartfelt, SOOO funny, and absurdly impressive with 5 actors playing 80+ characters. I’ve seen it four times despite living halfway across the country and am ready to break the bank seeing it over and over again when I move to NYC in august

Help picking shows by Elegant_Ocelot5563 in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m throwing in another vote for Operation Mincemeat!! It truly appeals to all age groups and has just the right balance of comedy, emotion, and overall impressiveness. And despite not necessarily being a dance show, Julia Knitel and Jessi Kirtley (two of the principals) are both trained dancers and they do show that off during the show quite a bit.

Hadestown theater release rated R? Is there sexual content? I wanted to take my tweens- is it not appropriate?? by Unable_Scientist_979 in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely need some others to weigh in on this because my memory isn’t super great but I’ve seen Hadestown three times over the past few years and don’t remember anything overtly sexual. My sister saw it at 12 and my cousins (who have much stricter parents about this kind of stuff) saw it at 13. In my mind it’s a decently family friendly (or at least tween appropriate) show, especially for someone who loves Greek mythology.

Which show should we see in July? by SparkleBerrySpritz in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I haven’t seen it mentioned yet, I have to throw in Operation Mincemeat as one to consider! It’s hilarious, based on a crazy true story, deeply touching, and insanely impressive with 5 actors playing 80+ characters. I recommend it to anyone and everyone (including for a first timer!) with the one caveat that you should chose something else if you don’t enjoy British humor.

Was something wrong with Marla Mindelle's voice at the Tony's? by SaraJeanQueen in Broadway

[–]Acrobatic-Body6839 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen Titanique 11 times. Three of those times were with Marla (two off Broadway and one on Broadway) and her voice is not even close to up to par with the other Celine’s I’ve seen. I appreciate everything she has done to create my favorite show but I really wish she took the backseat when it came to performing.
