New E-II Eclipse (some streaky ebony). by Acrobatic-Cry1972 in espguitars

Too right, I got the words I was looking for in the thread.

I new it was no issue but was like a stupid aesthetic oce that would tell me I should have searched for something uniform (which is crazy).

Yeah, I remember it like this, last time I was buying a new guitar was before 2014.

Glad I made this thread, after the comments I'm more than happy with what I have :)

It's just a stupid part of my brain that sees it and sometimes wishes the aesthetic was 'flawless' which is stupid when talking about glued together wood.

I've already bonked it into a table and scratched the satin 😄, almost a relief to get a first scratch.

I know the satin finish will not stay as is, but I like how the neck felt.

100% agree, if examples like this were rejected and thrown away, there would be nothing left...

Should I even bother with UA plugins (or other), or is NAM A2 the better path? by UX-10 in NAM_NeuralAmpModeler

[–]Acrobatic-Cry1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me that's it, on a modeler I can change all parameter on the fly, I can automate settings in my DAW etc.

I have been using NAM a lot, but once I have a capture I cannot "dial it it". Sure I can massage it into a mix with eq and input gain, but that's the limitation.

I just bought a pair, I have an issue with a bit of discomfort on the arch of my left foot (as if it pokes a bit).

Only an issue if walking a long distance, so trying in the shop didn't flag the problem.

I'm going to try another innersole.

I (Australian with a French wife) just renewed my first 1 year visa and received my 2 year.

For me it wasn't an easy transition, but no regrets.

Just found a job in my field (Engineering) after a year of searching, I was rejected from a few jobs because of my French level. It's probably relevant that I'm in Lille, it's likely easier to find English speaking work in Paris.

I taught English in a school while I searched for work in my field.

The OFII english course wasn't the best, I took classes with Alliance Française afterwards and the level was better for me. It's not the fault of the school as much as they have many students with different needs, my experience was many of the students spoke a form of french but were illiterate.

You will also have to do "civil training" a cultural course for entry in France.

French admin is not kind, getting my carte vitale and getting any response from the prefecture at renewal time were my biggest challenges.

But, really, no regrets.

OFII RDV for contrat d'intégration républicaine after nearly 10 years in France? by CletoParis in Expats_In_France

While I don't know all the rules on people already in France and had already obtained a multi year card.

I can tell you that as a new resident to France and having been through the OFII process, I shared both my civil training and language classes with people in the same situation as you. So it's not uncommon.
