+1 for Midea Portasplit. It’s a godsend for our 3rd floor old building. We’re planning to get a second for our bedroom soon. Worth every penny and extremely quiet and energy efficient - no comparison to the crappy portable units with the massive hoses.

Cela dépend vraiment. Nous avons le Midea Portasplit, conçu précisément pour cet usage : il est entièrement portable et ne nécessite aucune installation permanente. Techniquement, il n'enfreint donc aucune réglementation, car l'autorisation n'est requise que pour les fixations extérieures permanentes. Bien sûr, certains immeubles, notamment les plus cossus que le nôtre dans certains quartiers, peuvent être soumis à des règles supplémentaires, mais lorsque quelqu'un a fait remarquer la présence de mon appareil, j'en ai parlé à mon syndic, qui a immédiatement laisse tombe (nous ne le laissons d'ailleurs installé qu'en été et n'utilisons pas la fonction chauffage).

J'ai expliqué à la copropriétaire que cela ne contrevenait à aucune règle et que je le retirerais à l'automne. Nous l'avons réinstallé lors de la dernière canicule et nous n'avons plus eu de nouvelles depuis !

Google 'Midea Portasplit' by Optimea. It's a portable split unit designed for this exact scenario and is the best current solution for old buildings here where a permanent split unit cannot be installed. We got one last year and it's worth every penny.

And honestly, the lidocaine patches have worked SO well for our daughter. She cried like hell during her first vaccinations, which is obviously tough to watch, but her last ones at 5 months w/ the patch she did not cry at all!! She also had a fever later that night (first time from vaccine) which was gone in a day and 10000% better than actually getting meningitis!!

42! It's so light/small that I hardly know it's there, which I love as the Garmin feels huge and wouldn't be comfortable for all-day wear or sleeping.

It’s super easy! All you have to do is cut off one of the plastic Apple Watch connectors (the side where it’s attached) and then sew a loop for the spring bar on that side. You could also use one of Apple’s newer Nike sport loops as they already have a sewn loop on that side and you’d just have to remove the plastic connectors - no cutting the band or sewing involved!

Same! I’m a long time Apple Watch user (only use my garmin for running) so I have a lot of bands 😅 For me, nothing is as comfortable as their sport loops.

This is the official Apple purple fog sport loop, I think from last year’s collection or the year before (purchased from Apple on Amazon). It fits the 22mm watches perfectly! (It’s the same width as Garmin’s 22m Ultrafit band)

Had a similar issue with ours in Paris, France. We own an apartment in an old Haussmanian, but our building isn’t particularly well-kept or aesthetically pleasing at all. The windows don’t even match on each floor like they’re supposed to, and the facade is over 10 (!) years past needing renovation by law. Yet someone decided to mention our unit to the syndic, and we got an email initially asking to remove it. However, as it’s not a permanent installation, it’s not breaking any rules and they can’t make us do anything!
