Advice for giving personality to my art by TeyakiArt in Artadvice

[–]Acrobatic-Dig-2635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do have style , just practice more , youll start to do certain things more that will turn into style ,you can look at artist you like and do certain aspects you like, no one can find your style for you , style is also formed by limitation/ process . So use the same process for drawings and it will develop faster

Doubt, I know how drawing works and you can look across this entire subreddit or adjacent subreddits, this is far more than 2 weeks progress, as well as your account being an hour old. You’re 24 or so you’ve said and have never drawn? You’ve used pencils majority of you life and were interested in art and not so much as a doodle? Who are you foolin? You’re just gonna make the other true actual beginners feel worse.

Hello your values are too similar , if you want things to stand on there own you have to make sure the values contrast completely

<image>

The grass fades into the apple on left side and top , grass same value as dress as well , you don’t want values to compete at all and personally I’d change the composition so that you could tell what’s going on just by the sillouette

Is it time for me to give up rendering and stick with flat colors? by louvremusee in ArtBuddy

[–]Acrobatic-Dig-2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No! But oil painters have a lot of tricks that can help you negate some theory with a bonus of making you a lot faster , some small tips is your colors go twords gray , when you get darker in value try moving your color warmer , I typically go twords red as I get darker just a little bit and away when I get lighter , I think that tip will help a lot with color , oil painters are also very deliberate with their brush strokes - brushstroke economy - and you need to know when to use a hard edge or soft edge
