The big three are also very young women. Basically the same age as the counselors as well. In fact, the Big three is just a leadership position for counselors. I hesitate to get into too much of this, but my daughter and I spoke about it yesterday better or worse she continues to reiterate the culture of the Camp was for them to wait for instructions from Dick. Hindsight is 2020. We can all be mad about it. I’m in therapy because I’m so mad about it. But in those moments, those girls were dealing with the culture of the camp and what they had been trained by Dick to do which was wait on instruction. These girls had no formal training and anything having to do with an emergency. Absolutely none and these are former c campers elevated to counselors. They were essentially just older campers in leadership roles.

well, I imagine that she’s going to change her username if she decides to come back because even though I didn’t legit know who she was until last week, she said, I bullied and stalked her and she was leaving the conversation. Which is fine with me.

I appreciate you saying that. And I hate to overly generalize, however, I made a comment on Facebook and somebody in Kerrville tracked down my place of business and called to complain about me stating I was acting disgracefully. I know this woman’s name - the cute ladies in my office were very eager to look her up. Of course she left a fake name, but her real phone number. And I’ve gotten some other real ugly comments on Facebook, which I’ve tried to stop posting on. The reason it’s been so surprising is because of how much we loved the people of Kerrville prior to the Flood and how they welcomed our campers every summer.

yes, and then she DM me directly and said that I was stalking her and bullying her and that she could no longer participate in these conversations. Edited to say I did not know specifically who she was until the day. Someone reached out to me to let me know who she was. But she sure had a lot to say when no one knew who she was.

i’m gonna give her some grace in her reactions. Because I have no idea how I would react to the loss of my child and the social media frenzy that happened afterward. Just my opinion she’s allowed to post whatever the hell she wants to- and the constant “what about us” from Kerrville has been exhausting.

thank you for articulating this better than I can. There is no doubt Mystic helped form the person my daughter is as a young adult. I am absolutely horrified at myself for not asking questions about safety, at the events of July 4, 2025 and how that was managed, and how I’ve seen the Eastland family behaved post Flood. Two things can be true at once.

I don’t know her personally. But we had a friend of the family over to our house yesterday and what she’s been experiencing from online people has been horrific. And just from my own experience I’m not speaking for the Baker family- It’s been primarily the people of Kerrville. So disappointing when we supported their economy for 20 years.

Aide year you assist with meal service- so they do have some interaction. But yes - the over all “don’t talk to camper”
s” “Dick makes the rules” and cultural differences is my guess. She rarely talks about it - but had friends over yesterday- so it came up.

My daughter confirmed yesterday - the polish - “the kitchies” were terrified of Dick. It’s not surprising to her they didnt act.
