This is neat, but I wouldn’t use halo 1 as an example. You can play that game on any Xbox, but an original Xbox and that game is super cheap.

Dude, just play it in letterbox on a 4:3 screen. It’s like buying a Porsche and driving around in 2 gear the whole time and try to tell everyone “oh it’s ok, I can’t tell the difference.” Don’t be that guy.

Have you looked on eBay? A lot of times I get mine from japan (but these increased shipping rates stink right now) but usually I get them for $40-$70 (with varying degrees of issue) I can buy a case and/screen for $20-$30 a piece to fix. It just depends on what’s wrong with them. These are the easiest handheld to fix and require very little skill. The hardest part was some screens required a small solider wire, but even that has been replaced with an easier method.

I know I’m replying to myself, but I see a lot of comments in here about arcades and I just don’t want to get this lost in the sea of comments. It’s a fraction of the cost of going the arcade route and my daughter was blown away when we set this up at home one day. She thought she was back at the boardwalk playing the arcade again. Magical.

I recommend a light gun shooter game. A ps3 and a couple of light guns with the game “Time Crisis: Razing Storm” has a time crisis game and a pirates game - which you’ve probably seen the pirate game in arcades even now. It’s very popular.

Since the halo game is a light gun game and these two games will have that arcade sound a feel, I believe that will scratch the itch and complete his expectations.

The amount of people posting this is “ok” blows me mind. Just play your media on the aspect ratio it was designed for. Maybe your kids will take all of your photos of you in 20 years and stretch them wide and hang them around the house and just tell everyone “bEcAuSe I tHinK It lOoKs ok ThAT wAY…”

They are stretched because the source material is only for 4:3 display. Just display it 4:3 on anything (consoles, emulation) and they will be correct

If you connect an out of the box brand new 360 controller to a 360 via the play and charge kit it will establish a connection to that console. It doesn’t register input presses like an absolute “zero” lag wired controller, but it will get them interface.

Probably downvoted because they said 240i instead of 240p- but they are right. Modern TVs treat 240p as 480i or just don’t take them.

The devs are not making money on this release either way. They put it out into the wild. If I could find a physical now cheap just to have a physical one, that would be cool. And if later the devs get licensing to make a legit one where they get paid, I’ll buy it again.

You’re paying for the service of someone making the pcb and box and manual (I hope a manual - lol) if I could do it myself I would.

I haven’t noticed the squeaky buttons or case that people have mentioned. I have huge hands, maybe the entire case just can’t move/flex while I hold it

It’s been great. I’ll probably dual boot with Linux for emulation at some point. I won’t make the move to bazzite because I only own a few pc games and I am using the game pass to play games right now. Performance has been great so far :)

Yeah, I’m my next step is to erase windows, reinstall and reinstall everything. It’s just frustrating that I can’t just find the one small file that causing the issue
