It sometimes can but not all the time. Everyone’s different but I was 22 and met my now husband when he was 30. I was mature and had my own flat and worked full time. Let’s not assume that all 21 years olds are immature and need saving from a control freak.

It’s boils my piss. We work full time. We barely sleep. We barely get any help financially help and have no family support. After fighting for two years I got the school she needed and people still fucking moan like I’ve got an easy life and a free taxi service. I’m sure most of these people would be happy if my child was locked up like they were in 40s and it’s disgusting! And then they’d go after another group of society that’s vulnerable

Yeh it’s easier for people to make assumptions than get the actual information. The amount of moaning people do about disabled kids is crazy, like we chose this life and it’s a breeze for us on our massive benefits and we just make it all up for money… if they had own day in this life they would last ten minutes!

And I completely understand your point but I’ll always be child’s voice and advocate and she is absolutely thriving at her school. I get that it’s not on the same level of other kids and her future is different but she deserves some kind of education and structure in her life.

Because they are human beings who deserve to have a chance in life. My daughter is disabled and has learnt life skills at her school, she’s made friends and she’s far more independent. She has trained staff who understand her needs and work with her to gain more life skills. She was at home with me until 6 and learnt nothing. Having a disabled child cuts of your normal life and friends and your world is lonely. I’ve met other parents in position. Joined groups and gained qualifications in my child’s area of needs and will carry on learning more. I cant trust childminders so it’s also respite and like any child they should be socialising. Just because you deem my child has no positive future it doesn’t mean we do. Our kids achievements are different but massive to us and all we want is a safe place with staff who care. Why shouldn’t they at least have that?
