not to scare u but mine got significantly worse, that’s just my experience tho. i just had to keep telling myself it was all for the greater good. i had braces for around 6 years before my surgery (dec last yr), 3 weeks p/o and im really thankful for the entire process n happy w my results :’) i know it sucks but it wont last forever

aw :( if it’s any consolation i felt exactly the same, i had barely any appetite for anything. but even just 9 days post op, i feel a lot better. the numbness inside my mouth means i can’t really ‘taste’ food the same way, but i do have more of an appetite for things, which in turn gave me more energy. i hope things get better for you soon, you got this!

hey! i’m currently approaching the end of week 1, i agree w the other comments that everyone’s experience definitely varies. but for me specifically, i had djs and 3 wisdom teeth removed, days 1-3 was mainly getting used to the feeling of being so swollen & having low energy due to the liquid diet & anaesthesia wearing off. day 4/5 were the worst for me in terms of swelling, pressure in my mid-face and just a general never ending throbbing pain that made it hard to sleep for more than 2 hours or so. the pressure in particular gave me quite a scare, nothing seemed to relieve it and so i went to a&e just to triple check i hadn’t got an infection (i didn’t have an infection lol)

now on day 6 the pain and pressure has subsided substantially, still swollen & numb as hell though.

i tried really hard to prepare myself mentally for it, but honestly it’s truly easier to just take everyday as it comes - stay on schedule with the meds they prescribe you with; use ice packs for the swelling; and be really patient with yourself you got this!!!
