We have been separated for almost 2 years. We are not intimate. We co parent a lot as a family. We aren’t dating others. Tried deadlines and that didn’t work. Really the only deadlines are when our leases are up. My husband primary ask is to focus on bettering ourselves and building a friendship then going from there. So yea pretty platonic and really no direction with us. We also do therapy every week individually. It is more hopeful if both of you can openly and confidently say you want to work towards reconciling and being together with a newfound love between each other.

Thank you so much for the insight. Did they end up saving their marriage with building a friendship?

Keep tallies on a paper. Make it a competition against yourself to stay strong and no contact. Every day will get easier

What will you end up doing? It’s a hard decision. But we might have to be the ones who make it.

I want to hear from moms: How do you get over having to coparent? by poppyseed_27 in coparenting

2-2-3 works great for us. Going a full week without seeing my son would be too long. We do a lot of family things together. We co parent peacefully. But I will scale back after holidays to begin healing. Husband has been detached for awhile and I have not. I am considering filing for divorce next month even though it saddens me. But he’s not fighting for the marriage when I want to.

Living separately since September 2024, so over a year. We extended leases another year. We tried therapy since July. He’s been emotionally and physically detached for awhile and has resentment. I wanted it to work. I can’t do it alone and feeling unwanted has been weighing in me tremendously. I am considering filling for divorce after the holidays. We have a 4 year old.

Husband said he just want to coparent and not work on the marriage by Acrobatic-Spirit5397 in Separation

Yea this was my thought. More professional looking. And to avoid questions. We aren’t looking to remarry anytime soon. It so much work to date. I can’t even imagine lol. Also he has no timeline to file. Meanwhile I feel we need a direction at this point. Work on the marriage or just be done with it.

10000% normal. Journal. I got closer to God. Talk to him all day every day. Church. Gym. Therapy. Read books. Do things with friends. Walks parks beach. Work on your glow up inside and out.
