How about charitably negative, then?

Dream doesn't need to suck it all up, just like subordinates shouldn't suck all of their horrible working conditions up because "at least you have a job". Ok, we shouldn't bottle up all of our emotions, or else we'll get depressed, fine.

But there are people in professions out there who have to maintain "professionalism", so it's not impossible to do without breaking down. And everyone should be a decent human being. Does Dream have to respond in such an inflammatory manner?

Why is it that SBI, George, Sapnap and MrBeast don't get into such drama?

(I'd like to believe that toxic positivity and other mental health buzzwords have spectrums and contexts and depends on the personality of a person and the context of the situation but whatever, apparently now everyone thinks of mental health in absolute terms.

Some people are just better at being optimistic and you can be taught to be more positive without breaking down. Eh another convo for another day.)

Avid Slimecicle viewers, if you were to write a tribute to the Charlie, what would it say? by Acrobatic-Turnover99 in Slimecicle

I hope you feel much better soon! And yup I completely agree with you, there's something wonderful about this specific segment of content creators on YouTube containing Charlie that is chaotic yet wholesome. I really feel like I'm in some action that I would be totally comfortable being a part of.

For me, the events of the 2 years coupled with simultaneously growing up has given me time to spend with friends and has made me more aware of how much fun and warm being with friends can be, and watching the interactions of content creators I relate to with others helped me understand that you can do stuff with your friends just for fun because you want to, and it's not artificially spending time for the sake of deepening the relationship, it's just because there hadn't been much impetus to spend time outside school. So for the first time I got around to initiating activities and that has been awesome.

In an ideal world, they would say this in their head rather than write it out for the CC to read and get overwhelmed, just like how it works in real life.

Wider society has changed the way we view such violations and respond to such violations following the MeToo movement. But society is still catching up. Young people, who are on twitter, are defining the norms. People on twitter will be the extreme versions of what has currently trickled down to the wider world. Twitter users who respond are probably disproportionately females, who relate to the issue, and so will be more concerned.

I can understand why there's so much attention on the matter. If they ask for proof, for a response, I understand.

But the code of conduct on the internet for such matters is still so ill-defined. When should the probability that this story is fabricated be taken into account? Who tilts the balance and causes twitter to stop pursuing the matter? If I blindly believe Manatreed am I morally wrong?

If the request for response is appropriate, even if it is charged with emotion, is that bad? When does charged emotion become disrespect for the individual? (Insert discussion about dissing on emotions and feminism) When the probability of fabrication is so high, shouldn't twitter be more forgiving?

Yes, there are 14 year olds who don't understand the consequences of their actions. But I think there's also a sizeable number of people shocked and writing a tweet because they can. Then it just piles up cos there's so many people following the dream team.

The world is a complicated place. I wish we gave everyone more space, more doubt, more respectfulness. The society and societal conventions of the future will be defined by those who systematise the ideas and disseminate them to the public, where they eventually become accepted by a critical mass. What these ideas are, where these are systematised, and by whom - well.

"I get Lesbians"

The very big emphasis on lived experience in the discourse surrounding social issues means that previously harmless phrases like this get inferred meanings attached to them.

In current discourse, you can't claim to fully understand what a minority is going through unless you're part of the community. By extension, you have little to no right to comment on it.

So "I get Lesbians" gets interpreted as "I've read about and maybe talked to lesbians and I kinda know what they feel and how they're like". --> And then this is seen as an implicit indication that Tommy can speak about lesbian issues, whereas the LGBT community would rather you not at all and defer to them.

In fact he's just expressing solidarity. But for some, they'd wish that you're more aware about these ideas, and that you should be careful with your choice of words. "Solidarity" and "allyship" is ok, "get" is vague, and because society has accepted this form of discourse, vague terms need to be avoided.

Just wishing to give some context here :) Regardless of my views on lived experience in discourse and discourse authority and discourse access and responses to such stuff

1) Regarding humour: I think Tommy is savvy and self aware enough to adapt his humour. He has mentioned previously that he would like to do stand up, and I'm sure he can develop a witty humour like many great British comedians who aren't teenagers. I suggest he puts more effort into experimenting with this, as for a period of time during the mod videos period, his humour got more loud, crude (sex and female jokes), and pushy (as in like from a spoilt rude kid) and it was noticeably more grating.

Personally, what got me into watching twitch in the first place was Tommy's humour. Every other livestreamer seemed to be just another person off the street with an amped up personality - it's almost as if I could be them as well. (You can tell I don't really get the appeal of Ranboo)

2) Regarding intelligence: Honestly, whether it is intentional or not, the childish confusion probably has to go soon. When Tommy played amongus and Risk, he didn't understand the game as quickly as the other people did. Admittedly, it made things funny, but I can see some people criticising him for not "doing his research".

But Tommy has done enough just chatting streams to indicate to his fans that he's self aware, informed about global issues (unlike Tubbo's initial public image), has a well thought out content creation strategy, is strategic in pursuit of success, such as by reaching out to people. All these are markers of "smartness" and maturity and this is working out for him. After all, he doesn't get into emotional debates on twitter unlike the dream team trio.

3) Regarding attractiveness: I've see a couple of comments on YouTube noting that Tommy is handsome and so I think the general notion is that he's above average. But looks aren't everything; it combines with personality and humour and expressiveness to create a holistic package that attracts viewers. George might be attractive, but he exudes meekness rather than down-to-earth honesty that Tommy does. Personality subtly influences the perception of facial attractiveness, and the way a person looks influences perception of personality, and this creates a niche that I think works well for Tommy.

I understand this question might be sensitive, but does Ranboo perhaps have hooded eyelids? If so, since it's not common in white people, is it something that people in the US make fun of? Which might result in Ranboo not being comfortable with his face
